The Remembrance of the Bearer of Glad Tidings and the Warner صلى الله عليه وسلم - Episode 17: A Spotlight on the Battle of the Trench

Since 2017-11-23

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم decided to take an action in order to alleviate this pressure and attack towards Taiba (Al-Madinah)

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: and People’s hearts reached their throats and suffered from fear, extreme hunger and cold. Huthaifa said, "By Allah, if I stretched my hand, I wouldn’t be able to see because it was pitch- dark and I wasn’t wearing anything except an unsown cloth that belongs to my wife who collected it for me.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon : So the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم wanted to reconcile with Ibn Hisn and Al-Haarith  who were the heads of Ghatfaan.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: So the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said to Ghatfaan, "O Ghatfaan, I’ll review a solution."

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم wanted them to take the third of Al-Madinah’s fruits in return of leaving along with their tribes so Quraish will remain by itself and then the Prophet will be able to defeat them.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: If the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم succeeded in convincing the six thousands fighters to return back to their towns that means that I have alleviated more than two thirds of the invaded army from my army.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم wanted to consult his Companions (May Allah be pleased with them).

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: The Prophet asked Sa’d bin Mua’th and Sa’d bin Ubaada to come to consult them. At that time the idolaters were sitting at the Prophet’s place.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم consulted them both. Then they said, "O Messenger of Allah! If this was an order revealed from Allah or this was an an order by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, then we won’t discuss this order but listen and obey.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: and of course the companions once they knew that the order came from Allah or His messenger they will obey it without hesitation.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: However, if this order was made because a danger might come to us, we don’t need it and we refuse it

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: O Messenger of Allah, we, as well as these idolaters, were worshiping idols and associating with Allah these idols. These people don’t hate it but desire to take at least one fruit either entertaining or trade.  O Messenger of Allah; when you came, Allah wills that we will be more honored and lead us to Islam and worshiping Him the One and then give them our money, By Allah they won’t see except our swords.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The Prophet was pleased with what the two said and agreed with their opinion.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: and because of what these two said (Saa’d bin mua’th and Sa’d bin Uba’da May Allah be pleased with these two), Ibn Hasn and those with him were very disappointed and depressed. They didn’t expect such words as (They will see just our swords) because they didn’t came to fight, they came for Al-Madinah’s food and Khaybar’s fruits. But they found that these people were so strong and firmly stood. So Al-Ahzaab (Parties) were trying to escape from what they had fallen in.

(The trial was doubled over this believers group. They had two enemies: the outside enemy who came to fight and siege them, while the inside one betrayed them, waiting to attack the believers group. Banu Quraiza (The Jews) chose betraying over loyalty and lying over sincerity and because of this choice that made them chose fear over tranquility, destruction over peace, and chose evil and omen of betraying as the evilness of its name)

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The sun of this day was set but the Prophet and his companions remained stationed.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The head of deceivers of Bani An-Nadeer  Huyayy bin Ak-khtab went to directly to the Jews.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He went to Bani Quraiza’s houses.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: So he went to their strong fortified houses and he kept calling O Ka’b bin Asad, O Ka’b bin Asad who was the head of Banu Quraiza’s jews.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He kept motivating him to fight the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم telling him that they brought all Arabs, their sons and families to fight the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: He said, "Don’t talk to me and go in your way."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He refused at first but followed his heart’s desire.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: Ka’ab gathered his people and agreed on breaking their pledge.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He allied with the idolaters on fighting the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم together.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: He returned back to Quraish saying happily, "they will be betrayed from behind as well. However, he didn’t know that the Prophet has eyes that inform him about what is happening and he knew that the Jews were preparing something.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, May my father, mother and my own self be sacrificed for his own safety, wanted to be sure of that so he asked Sa’d bin Mua’d and Sa’d bin Uba’ada and Abdullah bin Rawaaha as well as other companions to go to ask these people whether it is true that they betrayed them or not and said, "Go and see if it was sure what these people did and if they really betrayed us, tell me by theme words so I can know and the others won’t be disappointed and if they didn’t betray us, say it loudly and clearly."

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: Sa’d said, "O Jews, the Messenger of Allah is asking you to appeal to the pledge."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: So they knew after listening from them that the jews betrayed them and broke the pledge. They even abused the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and said, "Who is the Messenger of Allah? There’s no pledge between Mohammad and us."

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: Not even they abused the Prophet, but also they abused the Prophet’s wives صلى الله عليه وسلم harshly and insulted them. See how they have a vulgar tongue. So Sa’d bin Uba’da abused them and defended the Prophet’s wives but Sa’d bin Mua’d prevented him and said, "Leave them, what lies among us and them is more than just abusing."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When they returned they said, "O Messenger of Allah, ‘Adal and Al-Qaara, they were reminding the Prophet, using these two words, of the death of the Prophet’s Companions who memorized The Holy Qur’an."

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: ‘Adal and Al-Qaara was two tribes of Bani Huzail who were Arabs and habituated in Al-Hijaz. These tribes betrayed the Prophet’s companions and killed ten men of the prophet’s companions in a place called Ar-Raje’a.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When the two Sa’ds (Sa’d bin Mua’d and Sa’d bin Uba’dah) said ‘Adal and Al-Qaraa, the Prophet got it as he told them to tell him using themes words. Some Prophet’s Companions got it as well

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was worried about the Muslims’ women and children there as the Jews were so close to their houses. The prophet was so worried and distressed and the world was closed in on the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Companions as the enemies were surrounding them from everywhere and place

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was so depressed and sad as Ghatfaan was on the top of Al-Madinah waiting to fight them, Quraish was on the other side while the Jews were inside. Allah, Glory be to Him, said:

Interpretation of the meaining: "[Remember] when they came at you from above you and from below you, and when eyes shifted [in fear], and hearts reached the throats and you assumed about Allah [various] assumptions. There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe shaking" [Al-Ahzab: 9-10].

Besides that, the hypocrites started to shake Muslims’ spirits which made the situation more difficult and the prophet felt more depressing. The prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم covered his face with his garment and sat for seconds then he revealed his face and gave good tidings that Allah’s triumph is coming to his Companions

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: While the prophet was so depressed, a man from Ghatfaan, called Na’eem bin Masood bin ‘Amer Al-Ashga’y (may Allah be pleased with him), came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I embraced Islam recently and secretly. No one of my tribe knows about my embrace of islam and asked the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم to order him do anything that might benefit the Muslims. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked him to do anything that could help the Muslims in the present distress and use any strategy of avail, as the war is a trick.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: So he said, "Allow me to lie." The Prophet answered, "It’s okay to lie as it is permitted at war situations between the parties."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He started to think of a plan to change the situation now in favor of Muslims’ side.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: While the jews were happy by what fell over the Prophet and Muslims’ heads, however, they didn’t have a concrete evidence till now.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: So this Allah’s believered man went to Banu Quraiza’s jews. He was their friend and companion before embracing Islam.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He told them, "Gjatfaan and Quraish decided to fight the prophet and you (Jews) allied with them but once they triumphed, they will return to their homes with goods and spoils of war, leaving you behind to lay between Mohammed’s hands and he will take revenge then.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: They said, "O Na’eem, then what to do?" He told them, "Do not fight with them until they give you hostages."

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: "Ask them to hand you over about seventy men of their notables and keep them inside your fortified."

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: They said, "It’s a good opinion, so they won’t fight with Quraish till the latter will give them hostages and Quraish won’t run away or escape and leave their hostages." Then he went as well to Quraish.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: Na’eem said, "O Abu Sufyaan, don’t you trust me?" He said, "You’re Na’eem bin Masood, one of the notable men at Ghatfaan. How I can’t trust you." He told him that he heard some news that the Jews regretted that they broke their pledge with Mohammad and asked him to forgive them but he refused so they said if we handed seventy men of Quraish to you to kill them you will forgive us and Mohammad said, "Yes."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: So if they asked you to hand those hostages, don’t hand them over. He did that to them and those (Jews) and he went to Ghatfaan and did the same.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: He told Ghatfaan that the Jews regretted breaking the pledge between them and Mohammad and he put a condition to forgive them only if they gave him seventy men of you as hostages.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The confederates began to doubt each others.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: Abu Sufyan stayed many hours and wanted to make sure of what Ibn Masood said of the Jews’ situation now. It was Friday and he sent a delegation sneaking into their fortified until they entered and said, "O Banu Quraiza!"

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: This place is not our land and we aren’t going to stay a lot, as our weapons and food decreased so we want to fight Mohammad to be able to return back to our homes. The Jews send to them as Na’eem instructed and advised them.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: They said, "You know that tomorrow will be Saturday and we glorify this day. You also know that our Grandparents transgressed so Allah cursed them and made them apes and pigs."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: And other thing, we won’t fight with you till you gave us some of your men as hostages so you won’t betray us.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: When they heard that, they said, "By Allah, Na’eem told the truth, By Allah, Na’eem told the truth and refused to send any to them."

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi: And when the Jews knew said, "By Allah, ibn Masood told the truth, Ibn Masood told the truth."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: They were divided and shattered. Their hearts were diverse.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Uraifi:  So the pledge between them was broken and no more pledges were between them.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Na’eem did this  magnificent and sublime deed on the very first day of his belief and his embrace of Islam.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The prophet was certain that the victory is only granted by Allah, the Creator of all creations;,so he prayed before his Lord, and supplicated him.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Among his prayers was “O Allah! You are quick in account, you are the sender of the Book, and we beseech you to defeat the confederates, defeat and shock them”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Praise be to Allah, he responded to the supplication of his prophet

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Distrust and suspicion spread among the disbelieving allies and reduced their morale to deplorable degree. Afterwards, Allah sent one of his divine forces upon them.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He sent a strong cold wind upon a camp of the confederates who turned against Medina.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Their tents were blown down. Cooking vessels and other equipage overthrown. They almost couldn't see from the dust and soil that entered their eyes. Afterwards, they were by Allah preparations dispersed. Allah, through descending his angels, casted terror into their hearts.

Interpretation of the meaining: "O YOU who have attained to faith! Call to mind the blessings which God bestowed on you (at the time) when [enemy] hosts came down upon you, whereupon We let loose against them a storm wind and [heavenly] hosts that you could not see: yet God saw all that you did." [Al-Ahzab: 9]

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Huthaifah bin Al-Yaman narrating the terror casted into the polytheists hearts ever since, he says (may Allah be pleased with him) "I've attended with the prophet the night of the confederates' battlefield. There was a stormy wind, and we were sore. The prophet then said, "Is there amongst you a man who brings me the news of the enemy and shall be with me on the Day of Judgment by Allah [the Glorious and Exalted]?" He صلى الله عليه وسلم wanted to closely investigate the polytheists' situation;.Huthaifah said "No one of us answered him."

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: So he repeated again, "Who would go to the confederates' camp and bring me their news and he shall be my companion in paradise?" With a clear indication of the man's safety as he would be back to the prophet with the news of the polytheists, despite of that, no one responded.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Therefore, the prophet chose himself from amongst them. His choice was Huthaifa bin Al-Yaman

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: "I could not oppose to the prophet's command and so I stood and went on the mission," Huthaifa said

Sheikh Ali Paqees: and he صلى الله عليه وسلم ordered him to bring the news of the polytheists and not to do anything that may provoke them.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: "I was incredulous, very afraid. I almost couldn't see my own hands due to the pitch black darkness," Huthaifah said

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: "But when I left the prophet, I felt as warm as if I was walking in a heated bath" [he didn't feel the cold he felt before leaving]

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: So I descended into the trench and ascended it again carrying with me my bow and my quiver.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Till he reached the camp and sit amongst the polytheists. Suddenly he saw Abu Sufyan.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: Abu Sufyan felt a stranger presence spying on them. He cried out loud

Sheikh Ali Paqees: and asked everyone to look at whom beside him for being afraid of a spy amongst them.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: I immediately turned to whom beside me and took the initiative to ask him "Who are you?"

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When all was settled, Huthaifah listened to the speech of Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) as he was very close to him.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: "I said to myself, here is Abu Sufyan and I took a dart with white feather out of my quiver"

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: But then I recalled the words of the prophet to not do anything that might provoke the polytheists so I put it back and headed back feeling warm as if I was walking in a heated bath. I didn't feel the stormy cold that bit shrewdly the others. I returned to the prophet feeling the cold as soon as I settled, and told him the information I had."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The glad tidings came and the Help promised by Allah to his believers has arrived as the angels descended in the battlefield site to the aid of the believers and cast terror into the polytheists' hearts and even the wind Allah made its force an aid to their victory; and so Islam prevailed.

Interpretation of the meaining: "Thus, for all their fury, God repulsed those who were bent on denying the truth; no advantage did they gain, since God was enough to [protect] the believers in battle - seeing that God is most powerful, almighty" [Al-Ahzab: 25]

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Gabriel visited the prophet at noon, on the very day the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم came back to Medina after the previous battle

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: While he was taking a shower in Um Salama's house

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He said "O Muhammad"

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: "Have you put down your weapons"

Sheikh Ali Paqees: "But We, the angels, have not put down our weapons yet"

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: "Allah commands you, Oh Muhammad, to go to Banu Quraythah. I am about to go there myself to shake their stronghold."

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: "and cast terror into their hearts" it was Allah command to fight those who broke their pact with the prophet.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The prophet cried out amongst his companions “Let no one of you perform ‘Asr prayer except in Banu Quraythah.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Imagine their state after a month of siege, a month of hardships and hard work and just as they settle and relax, the call of Banu Quraythah's raid came. But the companions were of faith that doesn't waver. They had to obey the prophet and so they did.

Shiekh Al-'Uraify: The companions headed to Banu Quraythah's stronghold. They had already closed their gates. That bulwark was indeed impervious. They had inside enough supplies of food and wells of water that could last them a whole year.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم laid a tight siege to Banu Quraythah.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The imposed siege on the fort lasted for 25 days.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Huyayy bin Akhtab was amongst them as he fulfilled his pledge to Ka'b bin Asad, the prophet imposed a siege on those Jews.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: Banu Quraytha suffered from the siege and was utterly terrified.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: They sought their connections among Muslims, their old allies whom they traded and worked with before. They wanted to surrender according to the prophet's provisions but needed their allies' advices.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Then, they sent a message to the Prophet, asking him to send them Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) who was once their ally, as they wanted to consult with him.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Abu Lubabah was their ally, his household and trade were nearby their territory.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: So Abu Lubabah was sent to them. When entered the fort, the men stood and the women along with their children loudly wept to soften his heart.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: " O Abu Lubabah, do you advise us to surrender and accept the prophet's judgment?"

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Abu Lubabah said, "Yes." However, he made a sign with his hand towards his throat which meant that if they did so they would be slaugtered.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: But immediately Abu Lubabah realized that he out of pity has betrayed his Lord and the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He left them in utter regret; trembling and silently crying and then went straight to the prophet's Masjid (mosque)

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: he tied himself to one of its pillars and was left tied for six days.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He swore not to enter any of Bani Qurathah's households again and that he won't let anyone untie him unless the prophet do it himself"

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The Prophet was informed about Abu Lubabah. He said صلى الله عليه وسلم "If he had come to me before making a vow, I would have prayed for his forgiveness and Allah would have forgiven him, but now he should wait till he is forgiven by Allah" and so he was left.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: His wife used to come at the time of prayers and untied the rope with which he had tied himself to the pillar. And after he had offered his prayers she tied him to the pillar again, till Allah revealed from above seven heavens that he سبحانه وتعالى forgave him.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: the Muslims overjoyed, went to untie him

Sheikh Ali Paqees: But he refused to let them untie him unless the prophet himself unties him.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Later, the Prophet arrived in the mosque to offer morning prayers and set him free. This was a sign that the prophet himself has forgiven Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him)

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Even though Abu Lubabah told Banu Qurathah that if they surrendered they'd be slaughtered still they unconditionally surrendered.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When they surrendered, the tribe of Al-Aws (amongst the Helpers) requested good treatment for them for they were their old allies and the prophet had before accepted Al-Khazrak same request regarding their old allies, the Jews of Bani Qaynuqa'

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The prophet said, "Would you accept one of you, to be deputed to give verdict about them?" they agreed

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The prophet then chose Sa'd bin Mu'ath and immediately they cried their approval.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: The prophet sent to Sa'd to come.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Sa‘d meanwhile was suffering from a serious wound he sustained in the Confederates Battle. He was summoned and brought on a donkey.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: and during the Confederates Battle Sa'd had supplicated Allah "O Allah, don't let me die before you assist us against Banu Quraythah and soothe my bosom"

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Sa'd was carried to the Mosque

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: On his way, his clan surrounded him on both sides

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: Some of them addressed him "O Sa'd be lenient to your former allies"

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: When they importuned him with their begging, he said (may Allah be pleased with him) “It is time for Sa‘d not to be afraid of the blame of the blamers for the sake of Allah.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Sa'd came to the prophet carried on a donkey. The prophet said to his companions, "Stand up and help to alight your chief"

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: So they helped him to alight,  and he sat down."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: "O Sa'd, your former allies agreed to accept your verdict about them," his companions said.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He inquired "Would my judgment pass on them?" Their reply was positive.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He inquired again (may Allah be pleased with him) "Would it also be acceptable for the Muslims?" Their reply was positive again.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He inquired again, "Would it pass on the people present here?"

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He politely pointed at the prophet and turned his face away in respect and honor of him

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: The prophet himself then replied positively. Sa'd became silent and none dared to talk thereat.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Sa'd then said, "My verdict about them is

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: all their men should be killed

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: their women and children should be enslaved

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: and their wealth should be distributed

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: The prophet immediately cried "Allah Akbar (Allah is Great) you have given the judgment of Allah from above the seven heavens"

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم ordered that Banu Quraythah be withheld in the house of the daughter of Al-Harith, a woman from Al-Naggar clan, and ditches were dug for them in the market of Medina.

Sheikh Al-'Uraify: "All of their men were beheaded."

(It was a fair verdict for Banu Quraythah who dismissed their convention and betrayed the Muslima. Neither their stronghold nor their wealth protected them from the punishment. Ka'b bin Asad, Chief of Bani Quraythah previously said, "We found Muhammad to be honest and truthful," yet those who used to betray and dismiss their conventions could never quit their old habits)

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: When Banu Quraythah were judged and the judgment fulfilled, Allah responded to Sa'd's prayers, that virtuous slave of Allah

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: After the judgment of Sa'd he was sent back to prophet's Mosque صلى الله عليه وسلم. No more than few days before his wound from the shot he received in the battlefield bled vigorously again

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He died thereon (may Allah be pleased with him)

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The prophet carried him himself صلى الله عليه وسلم and laid him in his grave and prayed sincerely for him.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Both Muslim and Al-Bukhari narrated on the account of Jabir that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم had said: “The Throne of the Compassionate shook for the death of Sa‘d bin Mu‘ath” and in Sahih (corrected) narrations of Al-Tirmidhi

When his bier was carried,The hypocrites alleged it was too light. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم retorted “The angels are carrying him.” In another version of the narration "Why doesn't it be light! 70 thousands angels who didn't descend to earth before today and shall never descend again have been carrying his bier with you" may Allah be pleased with Sa'd
