The Remembrance of the Bearer of Glad Tidings and the Warner صلى الله عليه وسلم - Episode 15: A Spotlight on the Battle of Uhud

Since 2017-11-17

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoroo:  After Quraish had exerted a great effort to be able to meet Muslim’s attacks, they felt weakness and broke down, while Muslims fought heroically until Quraish’s strength was defeated.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy:  and the features of the Muslims' victory started to appear as well as the success of Allah- Glory be to him.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The Polytheists were deceived. The Makkan army brought with them number of their wives.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: Al-Bara’ bin A’zib- may Allah be pleased with him- says that we saw the Polytheists were fleeing along with their women as they  had decided to take their women along with them for they might arouse them to fight manfully.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: and to sing songs and poems saying to Ahl –Al Raya’: “O Bani ‘Abd Ad-Dar! O home defenders, Strike with your sharp swords …”

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: Al-Bara’ bin A’zib says, "We saw that their women fled away from the battle field, the one  could be seen fleeing, holding their dresses, with their anklets and legs revealed because of their great fear of the Muslim army.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoroo: After Allah-Glory be to Him- gave Muslims authority and triumph over Polytheists in the battle, and they started to follow them, kill them and gather the war booty that were resulted from this battle

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When the archers saw that Muslims recorded a clear victory in this battle and their fighters brothers were gathering the war booty and killing the enemy, they were trailed by the worldly avarice and decided to help in gathering the war booty with their brothers

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoroo: their leader Abdullah bin Jubair stood before them, stopped them and reminded them of the Prophet’s orders صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: but they said the war booty the war booty; the war booty the war booty

Sheikh Ali Paqees: about forty of them left their posts to help in gathering the war booty

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoroo: and they started to gather the war booty with their their Muslim brothers

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The shrewd Khalid bin Al-Waleed noticed that the archers left their posts above the mountain

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy:  So Khalid bin Al-Waleed noticed that the place became open for them and it’s the best time to seize this opportunity, as there was only Abdullah bin Jubair and nine of his companions there on the mountain, and then Khalid bin Al-Waleed, may Allah be pleased with him, attacked them and he was a polytheist  at that time.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He sneaked and descended the mountain to exterminate Abdullah bin Jubair and his companions

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: Once he descended the mountain, he exterminated Abdullah bin Jubair and the nine companions who were with him and martyred them all.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: then he, Khalid bin Al-Waleed, surprised the Muslim Army from behind. And for a second they stayed helplessly wondering what to do.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Muslim army was disturbed by what had happened and became very confused

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: their horsemen uttered a shout that signaled the new military developments, and once again they returned back.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: An idolist woman rushed to the lying-on-earth standard, picked it up and hoisted it.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron:The idolaters gathered together around the standard and called out unto one another till they encircled the Muslims and stood fast to fight again enthusiastically .

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: and the Muslim Army was trapped between these two idolatrous army.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: and the Muslim army was trapped because they disobied the Prophet’s orders–peace be upon him-  as He –peace be upon him- ordered the archers to hold on to their position whatever the development of the battle and even if they triumphed over the polytheists.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: the idolatries were about to reach the Prophet –peace be upon him- and ready to kill him.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: At that time Prophet –peace be upon him- was in the battle field surrounded by nine of his companions. They were protecting him-peace be upon him- from any danger –may Allah be pleased with them.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: This all was the consequence of disobeying the Prophet-peace be upon him- this great disobedience that the archers had done and then people wandered how we were defeated or how come we were defeated while Prophet –peace be upon him- is among us? And then Allah revealed

Interpretation of the meaining: "Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves" Indeed, Allah is over all things competent." [Al-Imran: 165]

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: one of the Enemies of Allah, idolaters, shouted, the Prophet was martyred, the Prophet was martyred, the Prophet was martyred and thus the Prophet’s companions became stunned.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: then the Prophet – Peace be upon him- shouted, "O slaves of Allah, O Slaves of Allah, so the Idolaters and some of Muslims heard his shouting but the Idolaters rushed to him and were the first who reached him to kill him."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Idolaters rushed to him- peace be upon him – determined to kill him- peace be upon him, his family and all his companions-  while he was surrounded by nine of his companions.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: and they defended the Prophet from any harm or danger and fought against the idolaters heroically.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi:  When the idolaters reached the Prophet’s position, they burdened him with their fights and attacks when he was totally exhausted. He said, peace be upon him, "Who will suffice us their evils (i.e. fight them back)? He’ll be my companion in Jannah.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: So one of Al-Ansar stood and fought the idolaters till he was martyred

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Once again they burdened him with their fights and attacks until he was totally exhausted. He said, peace be upon him, "Who will suffice us their evils (i.e. fight them back)? He’ll be my companion in Jannah."

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: Then the second stood and the third after that until all the seven who were from Al-Ansar were martyred.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: While those who remained out of the nine companions who were defending the Prophet peace be upon him two men of Al-Muhajereen

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas and T’alha bin Ubaid Allah may Allah be pleased with all the prophet’s companions, with these two, with us and with all Allah’s believers

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: These two companions fought heroically and boldly for Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas. The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم emptied his quiver of arrows and said to Sa‘d bin Abi Waqqas,

Sheikh Ali Paqees: “Shoot, an arrow Sa‘d. May my father and mother be sacrified for you.”

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: So Sa’d, may Allah be pleased with him, was shooting, hitting his target of idolaters and fighting their attacks back

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: While Ta’lha fought heroically like great heroes till his hand was hurt and his fingers were cut off. So he said, "Be they cut off!"

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "If you had said, In the Name of Allâh, the angels would have raised you up."

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy:  He fought until his hand was paralyzed, may Allah be pleased with him, and remained like this after that

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: and the hour that passed was the most awkward and dangerous hour for the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: Through this time the prophet’s companions, May Allah be pleased with them, rushed one after another to his place after they heard his shouting, peace be upon him.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: Until number of the Prophet’s companions gathered and there were Abo Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him; Ali bin Abi T’alib, may Allah be pleased with him; and Omar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: and they surrounded the Prophet, peace be upon him, to protect him and fight the idolaters back because the idolaters were determined on reaching the Prophet and killing him. Such sacrifices showed how much those companions dearly loved the prophet.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The enemies of Allah desired the death of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Utbah bin Abi Waqqas pelted him, peace be upon him, with stones.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: One of the stones fell on his face. His lower right incisor

Ruba‘iya (i.e. the tooth that is between a canine and a front tooth) was injured. His lower lip was wounded. He was also attacked by ‘Abdullah bin Shihab Az-Zuhri who cleaved his forehead. ‘Abdullah bin Qami’a (Qami’a means ‘a humiliated woman’), who was an obstinate strong horseman,

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: struck him, peace be upon him, on his cheeks and the blood flowed down his face

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: But he couldn’t kill him, peace be upon him, because he, may my father, my mother and my own life be sacrified for him, was fighting while holding two armors, though it was not strong enough to break his two armours. He dealt a heavy blow on his cheek. It was so strong that two rings of his iron-ringed helmet penetrated into his holy cheek. “Take this stroke from me, I am Ibn Qami’a,” he said while striking the Messenger with his sword. The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم replied — while he was wiping the blood flowing on his face: “I implore Allâh to humiliate you.” (Aqma’aka Allâh), Aqma’aka Allâh, Aqma’aka Allâh

Sheikh Ali Paqees:  In this battle, a story of love and loyalty was shown. It’s Talha bin Ubaid Allah‘s story

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: Abu Talha was a skillful sort of archer. When a man passed along with a quiver full of arrows, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم would say, “Spread the arrows to Abu Talhah!” Then when the Prophet (Peace be upon him) watched people shooting, Abu Talhah would say, "I sacrifice my father and mother for your safety. Do not go too close lest an arrow of theirs should hit you. I would rather die than see you hurt. My neck for your neck ya RasoolAllah (Allah’s Messenger)”

Sheikh Ali Paqees:  and he kept fighting back the idolaters and protecting the Prophet till the Prophet’s companions came to protect the prophet along with him

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: Malik bin Sinan, the father of Abi Sa‘eed Al-Khudri sucked the blood out of the Prophet’s cheek till he cleaned it. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Spit it!” But Malik said, “By Allâh, I will never spit it”. Then he set out to fight Allah’s enemies and His Messenger’s enemies. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم then said, “He who wants to see a man of the people of Paradise, let him look at this one.” No sooner had he resumed fighting than he, may Allah be pleased with him, was martyred in the thick of the battle.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: In this Battle there were a number of sacrifices

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: One of the strangest stories that took place in the battle of Uhud, story of Abdullah bin Haraam who has washed himself, shrouded and perfumed himself and asked Allah, "O Allah, please accept me as martyr on this day till You Allah is pleased then went down to the battle and fought heroically, boldly with no fear until he was the first one who has martyred. His son Jabir went to the Prophet after the battle crying and weeping. When the prophet looked at him and said, "O Jabir, weep or not, By Allah that my soul is within his hand, The angels kept shading him (your father) with their wings until you lifted him [from the battlefield]. Allah spoke to your father while facing him. He said, "O My servant, ask for [whatever you like] so that I would give it to you." He said, "O Lord, bring me back to life so that I would be killed in Your cause once again." The Lord Almighty said, "It has been decreed earlier by Me that to it [the life of the worldly life] those [who die] never return." He said, "O My servant, ask for [whatever you like] so that I would give it to you." He said I ask to be pleased with me because I have been pleased with You, so the Almighty said I am pleased with you, you have My approval and I will not ever be angered at you but approval from Allah is greater.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: Mus‘ab bin ‘Umair, in his turn, fought fiercely and violently defending the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم against the attacks of the idolaters

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He was carrying the standard of the Prophet, peace be upon him, with his right hand. In the process of fighting, it was cut off, so he grabbed the standard in his left hand till

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: so the standard won’t fell and confronted the enemies and fought them so they hit his left hand and cut it off so he knelt down and shielded it with his chest and neck until he was killed (martyred)

Sheikh Ali Paqees: and he, may Allah be pleased with him, was the nearer one in resemblance to the Prophet, peace be upon him, Only then did Ibn Qami’a shout ‘ I killed Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, I killed Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, No sooner had Ibn Qami’a uttered that ominous sentence than consternation spread among Muhammad’s followers and their morale were drastically reduced, and some of his, peace be upon him, companions believed that the prophet was killed

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: The rumours managed to adversely act amongst the Muslims. It alleviated the sharp impact of the assaults of the polytheists who came to believe that they did really achieve their final objective that is the death of The Prophet peace be upon him

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Anas bin An-Nadr passed by those people who were shuddering of fear and panic when he listened to what they said “The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم has been killed.”

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron : and inquired: “What are you waiting for?” “What do you live for after Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم? Come on and die for what the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم has died for.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Then he said: “O Allâh I apologize for what these people (i.e.the Muslims) have done.

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: and I swear disavowal of what the idolaters have perpetrated.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi:  Then he moved on till he was encountered by Sa‘d bin Mu‘adh who asked him,

Sheikh Ali Paqees:  “Where to, Abu ‘Umar?” Anas replied: “Ah, how fine the scent of the Paradise is! I smell it here in Uhud.”

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: He went on and fought against the idolaters till he was killed.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy : and after the battle, Muslims gathered to look for their dead and the martyrs, nobody recognized that man who was Anas bin An-Nadr, may Allah be pleased with him,  because of the numberless of  stabs on his face and his neck until he was severely tortured that’s why nobody recognized him

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: Except his sister who recognized his dead body by the tip of his finger. It had been cut and stabbed by over eighty swords, arrows and spears, may Allah be pleased with him.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: regarding him (this companion) and those like him, Allah revealed to his prophet

Interpretation of the meaining: "Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration" [Al-Ahzab: 23]

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Prophet’s incisor broke, his head was cleaved, and that he started wiping the blood off it and saying: “Allâh’s Wrath is great on those who besmear the face of His Messenger,”

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy : and he kept wiping the blood off his face while saying “(I wonder) how can people who cut the face of their Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, how can such people thrive or be successful?”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: and even his injures and his pains; he said, May my father, mother and my own life be sacrified for you, “O Allâh, forgive my people for they have no knowledge, O Allâh, forgive my people for they have no knowledge, O Allâh, forgive my people for they have no knowledge.”

Sheikh Ali Paqees: In this battle there were different colors of sacrifices

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: not only men who were sacrificing their livers for the prophet’s safety but also women participated as Umm ‘Amarah participated in the fight too. She defended the Prophet peace be upon him, by herself may Allah be pleased with her

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy:  She encountered Ibn Qami’a, one of the idolaters, in combat. He was determined to kill the prophet peace be upon him

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: He sustained a slight wound on her shoulder, but she herself also struck him with her sword several times but he survived because he was wearing two armours.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Her son ‘Amarah  went to defend the prophet  peace be upon him but the prophet told him to rush to his mother to protect her and when he went to protect his mother she told him, you have no mother, go and protect Rasuullah ( the prophet, peace be upon him)

Sheikh Zaid Al-Qoron: However she, May Allah pleased with her, kept fighting and protecting the Prophet peace be upon him until her wounds counted twelve, May Allah be pleased with her

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The prophet, peace be upon him, was surrounded by the care, love and loyalty of his Companions in the battle, scarifying their lives for his own safety as Abu Bakr, Omar, Sa’d, Abu Talha and Abu Dujana. Abu talha is ready to sacrifice his neck for the Prophet’s safety; Abu Dujana stood before the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم and used to protect him from the arrows by his back. All of them fought boldly in this battle.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: From the most sorrowful thing that took place in the battle was the death and the martyrdom of  Hamzah bin abd Al-Mottilb, the Lion of Allaah, and His messenger, peace be upon him who is the prophet’s uncle and his brother through nursing.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He was martyred in the battle of Uhud. He was killed by Wahshi, an Abyssinian slave who was working to Jubair bin Mut‘im.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Jubair bin Mut‘im said to him:  (Hamzah had killed Tu‘aymah bin ‘Adiyy bin Al-Khiyaar at the Battle of Badr)“If you kill Hamzah in revenge for my paternal uncle, you will be set free.”

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: So When the people set out for the battle of Uhud, I went out with the people for the battle, with only one target which was to kill Hamzah

Sheikh Ali Paqees : So Wahshi lay in wait for him,( Hamzah bin abd Al-Muttilb)

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: I hid behind a tree, and I waited in a quite suitable place to aim at him

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He hid behind a rock until he became within range, then threw his spear at him

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: I threw my spear at him, driving it through his neck until it came out from between his legs. Hamzah may Allah be pleased with him turned towards me to come to kill me but he was severely affected by the attack and died

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He couldn’t reach him and fell over his face. He was martyred, May Allah be pleased with him

That was so fierce day that both armies were tired;
the death of Hamzah was one of the consequences of the war besides the martyrdom of others;
it is the best kind of death; martyrdom as they lived honorably, the death at war is the proud of the masters

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The war ended and Abu Sufyan went up the mountain and shouted

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: “Is Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم among you?” and the Prophet was among them but ordered them not to answer him

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Then he asked “Is Ibn Abi Quhafah (i.e. Abu Bakr) among you?” They did not answer.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He asked again: “Is ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab among you?” They did not answer him for the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم forbade them answering him.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Abu Sufyan then said: “As for those three, we have relieved you of.”

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: ‘Umar could not help but talking and answered his allegation, so he said, “O enemy of Allâh, those whom you have just mentioned, I tell you that they are still alive. Allâh has maintained what you hate. Allâh has maintained what you hate.”

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Then Abu Sufyan shouted: “Hubal (an idol), let it be sublime!”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Why do you not reply?

Sheikh Ali Paqees: They said: What shall we say?” They asked him. “Say, Allâh is more Sublime and Exalted and Mightier as well.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Abu Sufyan said: “Al-‘Uzza (i.e. an idol) is ours but you have no ‘Uzza.”

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: “Why do you not reply?” The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said. “What shall we say?” They inquired.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He said Peace be upon him, “Say Allâh is our Protector, but you have no protector.”

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: Abu Sufyan said, “Well deeds! Today is a vengeance for Badr Day. This for that. War is attended with alternate success.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The prophet, peace be upon him, said to them, "Do not answer him but Omar answered him."

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy:  So Omar bin Al-Khattab, May Allah be pleased with him, said, “No, they are not the same. Our killed men are housed in Paradise, but yours are in Fire.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Then Abu Sufyan asked him,“Come on, ‘Umar, I beseech you by Allâh’s Name to tell me the truth, "Have we killed Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم?” ‘Umar said,  "O enemy of Allah, Allâh has maintained what you hate."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Then Abu Sufyan promised them, “We will meet again at Badr next year.” And they agreed

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi:  After the battle had ended, the prophet, peace be upon him, ordered Zaid bin Thabit to look for Sa’d bin Al-Rabi’

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy:  I looked for him and when I found him, he was dying — with about seventy strokes or stabs of a sword, a spear and an arrow in his body.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: So I said, “O Sa‘d, the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم sends you his greetings and says "Peace be upon you, tell me how do you feel?"

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy:  Sa‘d said, “And let peace be upon the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم and upon you, too. Tell him, "I smell the scent of the Paradise."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: And tell the Helpers, my people, "You shall not be excused before Allâh if the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم is hurt and your eyes are blinking’ (i.e. you are still alive and not dead).”

Then he died, May Allah be pleased with him and the Prophet peace be upon him looked for the martyrs and said “I bear witness to those on the Day of Resurrection."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: and He found among the martyrs Hamzah whose stomach was mutilated. He was extremely grieved by Hind bin ‘Utbah who ripped open the liver of Hamzah

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Ibn Mas‘ud said, "We have never seen the Messenger of Allah weeping so much as he was for Hamza bin ‘Abdul Muttalib. He directed him towards Al-Qiblah, and then he stood at his funeral and sobbed his heart out."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The Prophet saw Musa’b bin Umair was martyred so when they wanted to shroud him they didn’t find anything to shroud him in but a Burdah [a sheet]; when they covered his head with it, it was too short to cover his feet. Similarly if they covered his feet his head would be revealed.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He, peace be upon him, used to bury every two or three martyrs together in one grave and even join two men in one garment

Sheikh Ali Paqees; and who is the more learned of the Qur’ân, he would commit him to earth first.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He would say, “I bear witness to those on the Day of Resurrection.”

(Uhud’s day was a trial and tested day in which the rows had been distinguished from the very first hours; the believers and disbelievers camps then the great trial took place in the battle to show that the battle of uhud was as a school for all of us, not only for the prophet’s peace be upon him companions )

Sheikh Ali Paqees: On his way back, peace be upon him, matchless examples of love and devotion were revealed by the truthful women believers as all the Madina’s citizens were waiting for the Prophet and the Muslim army’s returning

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He passed by a woman of Bani Dinar who was waiting for the Prophet’s returning

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy : whose husband, father and brother were all killed at Uhud.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: they consoled her about her father, she said, “How is the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم?” then they told her about the death of her husband, she said, “How is the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم?”, then they told her about the death of her husband, she said, “How is the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم?” They said, “Well indeed Alhamdullilah ( All Praises to Allah)

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: She said: “Let me see him,” She wanted to make sure that he is safe and when she saw him peace be upon him

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: she said, “All Praises to Allah, Alhamdullilah, All misfortunes are nothing so long as you are safe, O Rasol of Allah”

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When he peace be upon him returned to Taiba (Madina) Umm Sa‘d bin Mu‘adh came running to welcome the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and her son had been killed in that battle so Sa’d bin Mua’hd said to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم: “O Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم. This is my mother.” The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم consoled her about the death of her son ‘Amr bin Mu‘adh. But she said: “So long as I see you are safe, my misfortune will certainly go into oblivion. The prophet peace be upon him returned to Taiba ( madina) along with the rest of his Companions

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The battle had ended but what remained was people’s anguish and sorrow concerning what they lost and how they had lost although the prophet peace be upon him is among them and they are the best nation who were brought forth after the Messengers

Sheikh Ali Paqees: A great lesson was learned from this battle which is obeying the Messenger of Allah and to recognize that such a fatal disobedience brought such a misfortune to Muslims

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: and only to learn that it’s because of our sins that someone might have power over us; because of our sins, our lives could be led  and used by others easily so the repentance is the best and only solution; hold on to our religion and obey Allah and His Messenger’s orders completely. By this, we are safely guided and protected in our lives
