There are few who pay attention to morals of the friendship Therefore, we find a lot of love converts to hostility, and friendship alters to hatred and enmity, so if every two friends hold on to the morals of friendship, there will be neither separation nor an opportunity that evil could uses to spoil their friendship.

The friendship morals that should be concerned:

1-The friendship and brotherhood are only for the sake of Allah the Almighty.

2- The friend should adhere to morals and piety, prophet peace and pleasing be upon him said: "One imitates his close friend, so watch carefully who you choose to be your friend." [Narrated by Imam Ahmad Shaker and classed as Hasan by Allbani]
«المرء على دين خليله فلينظر أحدكم من يخالل»

3- Friend should be right-minded

4- He should be a righteous, not immoral person, committed to religion not deviate away from.

5- Also one of the friend morals: is to curtain his friend weakness without revealing it.

6- Friend should kindly and softly give advice without being tough.

7- He should be patient while giving advice without losing hope in straightening out.

8- He should patiently stand his friend's harm.

9- Under any circumstances, he should be loyal to his friend.

10- He should visit his friend for the sake of Allah, not only for his own sake.

11- He should seek to ask about his friend in his absence and look after his children in his travel.

12- He should visit him while his sick, greet him if he meets him, accept his invitation, advise him if he asking for it, reply to his friend if he sneezes saying" may Allah bestow His mercy upon you.", and to follow his funeral if he dies.

13- He should expose his friend's merits and he always should mention his virtues.

14- He should like the goodness for his friend as if for himself.

15- He should inform his friend about what he misses in religion teachings and show him the right path to his religion and worldly life.

16- He should defend him and repel gossip about him.

17- He should support him whether he is an oppressor or an oppressed, that is, supporting him as oppressor is by preventing him from oppressing others.

18- He should not abstain from helping if his friend needs as; friend indeed is friend in need.

19- He should satisfy his friend's needs, try hard for the benefit of his friend, and accept his little kindness.

20- He should prefer him over himself and give him the priority over others.

21- He should share his friend's joy and express his sympathy in tough times.

22- He should pray always for his friend in his absence.

23- He should treat him fairly while engaging in conflict.

24- He should not deny his friend's goodwill as the noble person who considers a moment of friendliness.

25- He should not exaggerate putting the blame on his friend or reproaching him.

26- He should consider excuses for his friend without enforcing him to apologize.
If the beloved comes with only one sin***His merits come as thousand intercessors.

27- He should accept his excuses if he apologizes.

28- He should welcome him when he visits him, be cheerful to him, and treat him hospitably.

29- He should present him gifts, and he should never ignore doing him favors as well.

30- He should forget his harms and disregard his faults.

31- Friends should not wait for rearward of their good deeds.

32- He should tell his friend that he likes him as Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said: "If one of you likes his friend he should tell him that he likes him." [Classed as authentic by Albani]
«إذا أحب أحدكم أخاه فليُعلمه أنه يحبه»

33- He should neither disgrace him for what he has done wrong, nor for committing an offense.

34- He should be modest with him without any act of pride. Allah Almighty said:" And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to those who follow you of the believers...” [Ash-Shu'araa 26:215]
{وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ}
Transliterations: Wa Akhfiđ Janāĥaka Limani Attabaaka Mina Al-Mu'uminīna

35- He should neither overly argue nor involved in a dispute with him which finds the way for conflict and separation between them.

36- He should not assume the bad intention by his friend. Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said: "Take care of suspicion because it leads to the fullest discourse of lies." [Narrated by Imam Muslim]
« إياكم والظن ، فإن الظن أكذب الحديث...»


37- He should neither reveal his friend's secret, nor break promises with him, nor help an enemy against him.

38- He should seek congratulating and telling him the good news.

39- He should not underestimate his friend's good deeds even it would be simple things.

40- He should keep encouraging him toward progress and success.

Finally, Allah knows best.
