The Very Beginning The Misri Bunch originally formed a year ago. Having studied abroad (specifically Egypt – thus the name ‘Misri’) the bunch of friends decided they needed to put their knowledge and skills into doing dawah on another level. Having seen the untold amount of content available for adults, they saw the great need for children’s content. Now the problem was that the existing stuff available for children were quite limited in terms of islamic teachings. In general they ranged from arabic alphabets and the continuous repetition of “MashaAllah” and “Al-Hamdulillah”. So the journey of going beyond just repetition and phrases began. Strong Foundations The team decided to start at the very foundation of Islam, knowing Allah. Devising a way in which they can teach about Allah in a simple manner so that children can know about their Creator. Keeping in mind the difficult questions children ask their parents about life and Allah we aimed to answer them through this fun filled series. And so the “Misri Bunch -Series 1 The Names of Allah” was born. Working on the project with a shoestring budget, the team managed to complete series 1. A year on from its launch, the series has aired on Islam Channel (SkyTV) to 132 countries (Europe + North Africa), the series has been uploaded onto ‘The Misri Bunch’ youtube channel and has had over 160,000 views from over 110 countries world wide (May Allah accept our efforts. Ameen!)
