The Remembrance of the Bearer of Glad Tidings and the Warner صلى الله عليه وسلم - Episode 27 (Last Episode): A Spotlight on The Prophet's Last Days

Since 2018-09-25

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Allah has perfected the religion and this blessing reached every human being. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has perfected, what has been revealed from His Lord, the responsibility for clear notification.

Sheikh S’ad Al-Ghnna’m:The message from Allah has completed and its lighting rays shined every spot over the land after it has covered with darkness

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Every beginning has an end

Sheikh Ali Paqees: and the signs of the Prophet’s life approaching its end began to show

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: the Prophet’s life’s pages has began to be folded and it were at the very last pages, this life that was full of radiance of pleasure

Sheikh Khaled Al-Mosleh: He spent these last days of his life by doing what Allah has ordered him to as Allah says to him,

{وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ} [ الحجر: 99]

Interpretation of the meaining: "And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death)."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: His life’s approaching to its end and leaving his companions started to appear. It was also noticed in all his sayings and deeds.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم knew that his death is so near

Sheikh Ali Paqees: as in his last year that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم died, he reviewed the Qur’an before Gabril twice in Ramada’n. He even stayed in the mosque for worshipping about twenty nights

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: It wasn’t his usual to do so as he used to stay for worshipping about ten days only every year

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم tried to give some hints to his companions that he might not be with them next year and that he was about to die

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He said to his companions when they were at Al-Aqab’a (O people! Listen to what I say. I do not know whether I will ever meet you at this place once again after this current year)

Sheikh Ali Paqees: While he was delivering his speech in the farewell pilgrimage, he said to his companions (I do not know whether I will ever meet you at this place once again after this current year)

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The revelation of An-Nasr Chapter was amid At-Tashreeq Days. So when it was sent down on him, he realized that it was the parting time and that Surah was an announcement of his approaching death.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: After that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم returned back to the blessed city of Al-Madinah (Taibah) and stayed nights and days of the month of Safar, the month that he died  in

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: On the early days of Safar in the eleventh year of Al-Hijra, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم went out to Uhud and observed a farewell prayer to the martyrs after eight years. It looked like saying goodbye to both the dead and the living alike.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He then ascended the pulpit and addressed the people saying:

“I am to precede you and I have been made witness upon you. By Allâh, you will meet me at the ‘Fountain’ very soon. I have been given the keys of worldly treasures. By Allâh, I do not fear for you that you will turn polytheists after me. But I do fear that acquisition of worldly riches should entice you to strike one another’s neck.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: On one night, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم took Aba-Muwaiheba, that man who is entrusted to the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and said, "let’s go ask for forgiveness to Al-Baqee‘cemetery so they went out together in the dark at night."

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He asked for forgiveness to them and said, “Peace be upon you tomb-dwellers! May that morning that dawns upon you be more relieving than that which dawn upon the living.  Afflictions are approaching them

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Afflictions are approaching them like cloudy lumps of a dark night — the last of which follows the first. The last one is bearing more evil than the first.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He comforted them saying, “We will follow you.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Then he said to Abi-Muwaiheba that these graves are full of darkness and what lights these graves is my supplication and praying

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The very first symptoms of the Prophet’s sickness started to appear On Monday the twenty- eighth or ninth of Safar in the eleventh year of Al-Hijra

Sheikh Ali Paqees: On the last night of Safar’s month, the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم participated in one of his companions’ funeral rites. On his way back, the symptoms started to appear over him صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: This sickness was a severe pain in his blessed head صلى الله عليه وسلم and was rising in his body’s temperature.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He tied a band over his head and entered Aisha's room (May Allah be pleased with her) and her head as well was aching and she was saying, "O My head."

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم entered and saw her in that situation and said, "It’s me who has to say O My head." And he asked Aisha’ (May Allah be pleased with her) what do you think I’ll do if you died before me and I perform Ghusl (washing the body) and prayed asking for mercy upon you."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: She answered, "O Messenger of Allah, if this happened I’m sure you’ll bring one of your wives and sleep with her on my bed and then the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم smiled but it showed how much he was tired.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He kept moving from one room to another of his wives (May Allah be pleased with them)

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: He was known by his utmost just that he was moving among his wives even though he was sick صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Ali Paqees: The days passed quickly and his sickness grew sever.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: Every time he finds himself more active asked, "Where will I be tomorrow? Where will I be tomorrow?" He wants Aisha’s day.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: until his wives understood that he was asking for Aisha’s day so they allowed him to stay the rest of his days at her room. She was the one that he loved the most and her father (May Allah be pleased with them ).

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم stayed at her place till the rest of his last days and the pain grew sever over his blessed body صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: ‘Aishah who has been watching him while he was sick and suffering, used to recite Al-Mu‘awwidhat (Chapters 113 and 114 of the Qur’ân) and blows in his hands and read Qu’ran over his body

Sheikh Khaled Al-Musleh: She said that she used the Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم hands to pass it over his body as she said because his hands were more blessed than mine

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Five days before his death, his body temperature rose so high that his body was badly affected by it. He even fainted then woke up and said,

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: “Pour out on me seven Qirab (water skin pots) of various water wells so that I may go out to meet people and talk to them.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: So they seated him in a container (usually used for washing) and poured out water on him

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Till he said, “That is enough. That is enough.” Then he felt well enough to enter the Mosque.  He covered his shoulders by a garment and banded his head with a thick headband because of the severe pain

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Then he headed to his mosque and ascended the pulpit to deliver his speech before his companions (May Allah be pleased with them)

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: It was the last speech that he delivered صلى الله عليه وسلم. So he began it by Praising Allah and he delivered one of the most effective speeches. It enclosed:

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: “The curse of Allâh falls upon the Jews and Christians for they have made their Prophets’ tombs places of worship.” Then he said,“Do not make my tomb a worshipped idol.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: In this situation, while he was suffering his pains and severe sickness, in this situation that all his companions were looking at him with merciful eyes, he صلى الله عليه وسلم offered himself and invited the people to repay any injuries he might have inflicted on them, saying:

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: “He whom I have ever lashed his back, I offer him my back so that he may avenge himself on me. He whom I have ever blasphemed his honour, here I am offering my honour so that he may avenge himself.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: No one has to say if I took what it belongs to me , then the Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم enmity will fall on me, the closest one to me is the one who takes his right from me so I can meet my Lord and having no enmity or grudge from anybody

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Then he descended and performed the noon prayer. Again he returned to the pulpit and sat on it. He resumed his first speech about enmity and some other things. Until one of the Companions said:

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: “You owe me three Dirhams.” The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Fadl, pay him the money.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi:  Then he asked Muslims to be good to Al-Ansar (the Helpers). He remembered his companions of Al-Ansar who supported him through his life and in the hour of difficulty

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: He remembered their deed and could not forget what they have done.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “I admonish you to be good to Al-Ansar (the Helpers). They are my family and with them I found shelter. They have acquitted themselves credibly of the responsibility that fell upon them and now there remains what you have to do. You should fully acknowledge and appreciate the favour that they have shown, and should overlook their faults.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He said: “The number of believers would increase, but the number of Helpers would decrease to the extent that they would be among men as salt in the food.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: then he said….

Sheikh Ali Paqees: “Allâh, the Great, has given a slave of His the opportunity to make a choice

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: between what He keeps for him in the world,

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: and whatever he desires of Allâh’s provisions in this world, but he has opted for the latter.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: “Upon hearing that, Abu Bakr cried and sobbed a lot

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: and said:  "O Messenger of Allah ‘We sacrifice our fathers, mothers and ourselves for your sake." And repeated, "We sacrifice our fathers, mothers and ourselves for your sake; we sacrifice our fathers, mothers and ourselves for your sake."

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: We wondered why Abu Bakr said such a thing. People said, ‘Look at that old man! The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم says about a slave of Allâh who was granted the right between the best fortunes of this world and the bounty of Allâh in the Hereafter, but he says, "We sacrifice our fathers and mothers for your sake!’ It was later on that we realized what he had aimed at. The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم was the slave informed to choose. We also acknowledged that Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) was the most learned among us.”

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Then he صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “The fellow I feel most secure in his company is Abu Bakr. If I were to make friendship with any other one than Allâh, I would have Abu Bakr a bosom friend of mine. For him I feel affection

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi : For him I feel affection and brotherhood of Islam. No gate shall be kept open in the Mosque except that of Abu Bakr’s.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: No gate shall be kept open in the Mosque except that of Abu Bakr’s.”

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He then left the pulpit and the day after this speech, his health worsened and asked the People and said “Come here. I will cause you to write something so that you will never fall into error.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon:Among them was ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab who said, “The Prophet of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم is suffering from acute pain and you have the Qur’ân with you, the Book of Allâh is sufficient unto you.” Others however wanted the writing to be made. so they differed over this

Sheikh Ali Paqees: when the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saw they had differed among each other and heard them debating over it, he ordered them to go away and leave him alone. He instructed some deeds to be done: firstly: Jews, Christians and polytheists should be expelled out of Arab’s Peninsula

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He recommended that delegations should be honoured and entertained, in a way similar to the one he used to do, to adhere to the Holy Book and the Sunnah, he ordered to accomplish and mobilize Osamah’s army. He also instructed about prayers and being attentive to slaves.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: In spite of the strain of disease and suffering from pain, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to lead all the prayers till that Thursday — four days before he died. In the evening he grew so sick that he could not overcome the strain of disease or go out to enter the Mosque to perform his comfort of eyes, praying.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: He then said,“Put some water in the washing pot.”

We did what he ordered. So he washed and wanted to stand up, he found himself a bit active

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He then wanted to go to perform his praying but couldn’t and fainted

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: and when he regained his conscious, he asked, "Have the people prayed?" and it was Aisha’ praying at that time

Sheikh Ali Paqees: they said: "They are waiting for you to lead them as you do"

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: they were waiting for him and why they don’t and he is the most beloved one to Allah- Glory be to Him- and they missed his talking, his sense of humor and his honesty at talking and used to talk and sit with him.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He ordered them again to put some water in the washing pot and to pour it over him and they did. But when he stood, he fainted. At last he said, "Send to Abu Bakr and order him to lead the prayer."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Aisha’a (May Allah be pleased with her) tried to turn the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم away from that decision so she said, "Abu Bakr is a soft-hearted man [who weeps upon reciting the Quran]

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: “If he stands in the same place that you used to stand in, he won’t bear it and will start weeping as he wouldn’t dare to stand in a place the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to stand in it and wouldn’t dare as well to recite the qu’ran that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to read and lead people in prayers. That's what would let Abu Bakr start weeping when he start leading Muslims in prayers. But the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم repeated again, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the prayer."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: I asked Hafsah to tell him that Abu Bakr was a soft-hearted man who would weep whenever he recited the Quran so they went and tried to turn him away again from that decision

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: until he said: “You (women) are [exactly like] the female companions of [Prophet] Yoosuf (Joseph). Tell Abu Bakr to lead the prayer.” Then Abu Bakr went out to lead them

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: As soon as he had started reading the Qur’an in prayer, his voice was buzzing like a boiler because of his weeping and sobbing. Even his sobbing and weeping voice could be heard from outside the Mosque.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Two days before his death, he صلى الله عليه وسلم found himself a bit active so he went outside his room (which was attached to the mosque) . At that time Abu Bakr was leading people in prayer

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: When the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم entered the mosque, hearing the voice of the Prophet ( Peace be upon him),Abu Bakr wanted to step back, but the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم beckoned him to remain in his place. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم sat on Abu Bakr’s left.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The Prophet  صلى الله عليه وسلم led people in prayer while he was sitting and Abu Bakr, who was praying while standing, followed the prayer of the Prophet  صلى الله عليه وسلم and people followed the prayer of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him).

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: It was on Sunday, a day before his death (Peace and blessings be upon him)

Sheikh Ali Paqees: On that day which was one day before the day of his death صلى الله عليه وسلم, as he was bidding farewell to this World, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم set his slaves free.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: On Sunday, he paid as a charity the seven Dinars he owned and gave his weapons as a present to the Muslims. As if he wanted to be light from any worldly possessions.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: So when night fell ‘Aishah had to borrow some oil from her neighbor to light her oil-lantern.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: O Glory be to Allah, there was no oil in his house صلى الله عليه وسلم who was bidding farewell to this world in order to light their house. He who all gold and money is within his hands but he still as he is. He will die while his house has no light. Even his armour was mortgaged as a security with a Jew for thirty Sa‘ (a cubic measure) of barley.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Hours passed quickly and a new day came

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Abu Bakr was leading people in prayers in the place of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: They were surprised to see the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم raising the curtain of ‘Aishah’s room. He looked at them while they were praying aligned properly.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon : He looked at them while they were praying aligned properly and smiled cheerfully.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Seeing him, Abu Bakr withdrew to join the lines and give way to him to lead the prayer. For he thought that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم wanted to go out and pray.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon:  His companions (May Allah be pleased with them) were so happy to see him well. They were surprised and were anxiously waiting for the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: They were almost too enraptured at their prayers because they were so delighted to see the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) after that difficult time, they found him seeming well.

Sheikh Ali Paqees : The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم made them a gesture to continue their prayer. It was his last scene in his life, the scene of watching His companions while they were praying

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Then went into the room and drew down the curtain.”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: All the Prophet’s Wives were at his house. While they were sitting, His blessed daughter Fatimah (May Allah be pleased with her) came. Her manner of walking was similar to the Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: when the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saw his daughter, and said to her, "O My Daughter, welcome!" And he made her sit on his right or left. Then he approached her صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He whispered to her some words then she cried

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Then he whispered to her again, and then she laughed (May Allah be pleased with her). Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) told her, "I haven’t seen you like this before, once you cried you laughed after it” and she asked her what the Prophet whispered to her. Then she replied, "By Allah, I won’t ever tell his secret till he dies."

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When the Prophet died, she said that he whispered to her that he is going to die that time and that she is the mistress of the women in the world, and also she is the first one in his family who will die after him

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Fatimah (May Allah be pleased with her) witnessed the great pain that afflicted her father and how he is suffering from his pains. So she said: “What great pain my father is in!”.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: To these words, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم remarked:“He will not suffer any more when today is over.” Then he asked to see his grandsons  Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When they came, he kissed them as he loved them so much and were so dear to his heart.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Then he asked his wives to gather. He advised them to Remember Allah and preached them. Then Pain grew so much severe that the trace of poison he had at Khaibar came to light. It was so sore that he said to ‘Aishah: “I still feel the painful effect of that food I tasted at Khaibar. I feel as if death is approaching and I will be free from such pain. So that he will die as a martyr (Peace and blessing be upon him)

Sheikh Ali Paqees: Hours passed quickly. The time of that day came, that day that history wrote it down and won’t be forgotten easily

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم put a piece of cloth over his face then he took it off and said, "The curse of Allâh falls upon the Jews and Christians for they have made their Prophets’ tombs places of worship.” “Do not make my tomb a worshipped idol.” His call that he lived for it and called people for it was At-Tawheed (Monotheism ). And he (Peace and blessing be uponhim) died on it: At-Tawheed (Worshiping only Allah)

Sheikh Ali Paqees: and he kept wiping his face by water and saying, "Verily Death has intoxication."

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He kept saying and advising them, [Observe] prayer, [observe] prayer and [be kind to] your slaves.’

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He was leaning on her lap and she read Qur’an and blew in her hands then by his hands kept wiping his body by Qur’an while he was suffering

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: the time of his death came. The time in which he will leave this world to go to the Hereafter.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: ‘Abdur Rahman — the son of Abu Bakr — came in with a Siwak (i.e. the root of a desert plant used for brushing teeth) in his hand, while I was leaning the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم against me. He صلى الله عليه وسلم loves Siwak and he was the one who told his Ummah about it to use it so she said

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: I noticed that he was looking at the Siwak, so I asked him — for I knew that he wanted it — “Would you like me to take it for you?” He nodded in agreement.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: I took it and gave it to him. As it was too hard for him, I asked him “Shall I soften it for you?” He nodded in agreement.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: So I softened it with my saliva and he passed it (on his teeth). He brushed his teeth nicely

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: when he finished brushing his teeth, Siwak felt from his hands

Sheikh Ali Paqees: he was whispering something so I listened to what he was saying

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: O Allah, join me to the Companionship on high. Join me to the Companionship on high. Join me to the Companionship on high.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: “With those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace with the Prophets and the Truthful ones (As-Siddeeqeen), the martyrs and the good doers.

Sheikh Ali Paqees: O Allah, join me to the Companionship on high. Join me to the Companionship on high.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: then His hands fell down and He died (Peace and blessings be upon him)

Why your eyes don’t get some sleep as if

Your eyes is darkened with a black kohl

Because of sadness over the guided who has been buried

O you are the best man steps on Land, don’t go away

O you are the best man steps on Land, don’t go away

O what the Prophet’s companions will do

After their beloved friend was buried

I wish my side can prevent you from sand

I wish I was the one who is buried

I wish I was the one who is buried

Sheikh Ali Paqees: his virtuous spirit has left this world to join the Companionship on high after he has spread his call and did his duty and also he was patient through calling towards Allah

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Mohammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him) died, who was sent as a mercy to the world

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: the honorable Messenger, and the Beloved chosen one, has died

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He died at high morning time on Monday, the 12 of Rabi‘ Al-Awwal, in the eleventh year of Al-Hijrah. He was 63 years and 4 days old when he died.

Sheikh Khaled al-Khalawy: Aisha’ (May Allah be pleased with her) covered the Prophet’s face and started to tell people about his death

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: A cry was heard in Al-Madinah once the news about the Prophet’s death spread. It was a big shock, and it was a misfortune that fell over the humanity as a mountain. After his death, misfortunes and difficulties began

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: His companions felt sadness over the death of their beloved Prophet, it was a severely sadness

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Anas bin Malk (May Allah be pleased with him) said “I have never witnessed a day better or brighter than that day on which the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم came to us; and I have never witnessed a more awful or darker day than that one on which the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم died on.” When he died, Fatimah said: “O Father, whose Lord responded to his supplication! O Father, whose abode is Paradise.  O Father, whom I announce his death to Gabriel.”

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Muslims were confused, some of them were surprised, and others were insane as if they lost consciousness while others fell down on their knees and couldn’t stand up

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: While people were very confused, Umar (May Allah be pleased with him), who was so stunned stood before people addressing them: “Some of the hypocrites claim that the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم died. The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم did not die, but went to his Lord in the same way as Moses

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: By Allâh, the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم will come back and he will cut off the hands and legs of those who claim his death.”

Sheikh Ali Paqees: When Abu Bakr heard the news, he rushed to the Prophet’s room and he entered it to find his beloved one, his friend and the closest one to his heart covered with his clothes. His friend and beloved friend that always used to laugh along with him and talk a lot

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He entered the room where his Beloved friend and the bestest friend to his heart was laying, not one of the livings but from the dead. He then leant on him and kissed him between his eyes while saying “I sacrifice my father and mother for your sake, “I sacrifice my father and mother for your sake.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: He kissed him a lot while he was crying and saying, O Messenger of Allah, O My bestest Friend, and O My closest one to me. I sacrifice my father and mother for your sake. You have become pure alive or dead

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Allâh, verily, will not cause you to die twice. You have just experienced the death that Allâh had ordained.” Then he went out to his friends quickly.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: then he said to Umar : “Be seated”

Sheikh Ali Paqees: He began to deliver a speech so people left Umar and came towards Abu Bakr who said “he who worships Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. Muhammad is dead now”

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi : But he who worships Allâh, He is Ever Living and He never dies. Allâh says:

Interpretation of the meaning: "‘Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful." [Al-Imran: 144]

Sheikh Ali Paqees:  And then People started weeping and sobbing and then Companions knew that the Prophet has died

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Even Umar when he heard it, he knelt on his knees, and wasn’t able to stand up and said, "O Abu Bakr, only one ayah (verse) from the Holy Qur’an, only one ayah,  he was surprised, it sounded as if he had never heard such a Qur’ânic verse even though he memorized it  but the shock was great. Then Abu Bakr said, "Yes only a verse," He said and then I realized that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has died.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The Messenger of Allah has died and it’s time to wash him

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: His blessed body was still lying on his bed covered with an inked-garment. He was locked in the room.  On Tuesday his body صلى الله عليه وسلم was washed with his clothes on

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: They were pouring water over his shirt and clothes and washing him by the shirt not their hands

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: He صلى الله عليه وسلم was washed three times by water and some perfume (Sidr), then he صلى الله عليه وسلم was shrouded in three white Sahooli cotton cloth which had neither a headcloth nor a casing and inserted him in.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: A sort of disagreement arose with regard to a burial place. Abu Bakr said, “I heard the Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم say, ‘A dead Prophet is buried where he dies.’

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi : So Abu Talhah lifted the bed on which he died, dug underneath and cut the ground to make the tomb.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: People entered the room ten by ten. They prayed for the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: No one was leading them in praying or they weren’t led by anyone

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon : The first to pray for him were people of his clan.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi : Then the Emigrants, then the Helpers

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: Then women and kids or kids and women. Those who passed didn’t lose someone as Mohammed and till the Day of Judgment; they won’t lose someone as Him.

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: Monday has passed and Tuesday while the Prophet (Peace and Blessing be upon him) was shrouded in his clothes over his bed. On Wednesday, they buried him

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: When he was buried, Fatimah (May Allah be pleased with her) told Anas, "O Anas, How your spirits assented you to pour dust over the Prophet’s Face (Peace and blessings be upon him), How your spirits assented you to pour dust over the Prophet’s Face (Peace and blessings be upon him)?!

Sheikh Abdullateaf Al-Ghamdi: The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) has left after he completed his duty and guided his Ummah, and Allah has uncovered the distress on his hands. It was a great condolence, and what a condolence to those who have a trial.

Sheikh Zaid al-Qoroon: The prophet warned Muslims concerning this disaster, he said, "Either one of you or one of believers fall on him a catastrophe, he shall console himself by remembering my catastrophe which is my death. As there won’t be one of my Ummah that will suffer from a misfortune as strong and great as my demise."
