Seventy Violations Committed by Women

Since 2012-11-29

This is a concise paper that indicates a number of violations that are being committed by some Muslim women due to being away from the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him). They are also committed because of their ignorance of the provisions of the Islamic law.

All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, and prayers and peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah and upon all his family and companions.

This is a concise paper that indicates a number of violations that are being committed by some Muslim women due to being away from the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him). They are also committed because of their ignorance of the provisions of the Islamic law. One reason for committing these violations may be stubbornness and insisting on doing forbidden actions and committing sins, we ask protection from Allah. We advise each Muslim woman to adhere to the instructions of her religion and keep away from the acts of disobedience and sins to save herself and to be an example for others. Allah knows best. Prayers and peace of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.
Firstly, Violations in Creed
1- Going to magicians, soothsayers, and sorcerers when one of them is afflicted by an illness, magic, or envy. This is forbidden and believing them is infidelity. The Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said, “He who visits a soothsayer and believes him and his words, then he disbelieved of what has been revealed to Muhammad.” [Authenticated by Al-Albani 3044 in Sahîh Aj-Jami’ (the Authentic Collection)]
«من أتى كاهنًا فصدقه بما قال؛ فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمّدٍ» صححه الألباني في صحيح الجامع
He (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said about those who only ask without believing them, “He who visits a diviner and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted.” [Reported by Muslim: 2230]
«من أتى عرافًا فسأله عن شيءٍ لم تقبل له صلاة أربعين ليلة» رواه مسلم
2- Women visiting and traveling to graves, especially the tomb of the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him). He (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said, “Allah has cursed the frequent [women]visitors to graves.” [Authenticated by Al-Albani 5109 in Sahîh Aj-Jami’]
«لعن الله زوارات القبور» صححه الألباني في صحيح الجامع

That is in addition to wishing them a happy birthday, a Merry Christmas or other. This is forbidden as this is loyalty to the enemies of Allah.
4- Ignorance of the religious issues and shunning from learning religious knowledge, especially the provisions of women. The Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said, “Requiring knowledge is an obligation on each Muslim.” [Reported by Ibn Majah 184 and authenticated by Al-Albani]
«طلب العلم فريضة على كلّ مسلمٍ» رواه ابن ماجه وصححه الألباني
5- Howling over the dead, beating the cheeks and tear the front opening of the shirt. He (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said, “He who slaps his cheeks, tears his clothes and follows the ways and traditions of the Days of Ignorance is not one of us.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari: 1294]

6- Travelling to infidel countries, on the plea of studying; even if she has an unmarriageable man, a woman spends years of her life there. This matter bears great evils of which Allah is All-Knowing. Or travelling to infidel countries to spend holidays or what is called “the honeymoon” with the intention of recreation and tourism. Scholars have delivered a legal opinion that travelling to the infidel countries is not allowed unless there is a legitimate justification. Tourism and recreation are not legitimate justifications.
7- Forcing the husband to bring a maid or nanny without needing her. The presence of a nanny may cause many evils.

9- Some women supplicate evil against themselves, such as invoking to die because of a trouble in which they are involved. The Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) has said, “None of you should make a request for death because of the trouble in which he is involved. But if there is no other help to it, then say, ‘O Allah, keep me alive as long as there is goodness in life for me and bring death to me when there is goodness in death for me.’” [Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Verily, there are many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks who devour the wealth of mankind in falsehood, and hinder (them) from the Way of Allâh (i.e. Allâh’s religion of Islâmic Monotheism). And those who hoard up gold and silver [Al-Kanz: the money, the Zakât of which has not been paid] and spend them not in the Way of Allâh, announce unto them a painful torment. [34]. On the Day when that (Al-Kanz: money, gold and silver the Zakât of which has not been paid) will be heated in the Fire of Hell and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, (and it will be said unto them): “This is the treasure which you hoarded for yourselves.
