A Journey through Time… A New Invention!!

Since 2012-11-17

Let's go back to the golden ages...

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All the praises and thanks be to Allah, and peace and blessings of Allah upon His Messenger and upon his family, companions and followers.

A Journey through Time… A New Invention!!(1)

One day… after I have returned home from the mosque… after the fajr (early morning) prayer… and the duha (after the sunrise) prayer… I began going through some newspapers and magazines… as I have used to for a long time. Most the news was bad news. The main editorials were about the recrimination… and the clashes… that occur under the dome of the House of Representatives. They also include news about the corruption and the corrupters… as well as news about: thefts, bribes, embezzlements, financial deceptions, and a lot more.

And it was extremely excruciating when I came upon the news of the country… social affairs… family affairs… Judicial affairs… and local affairs. Courts are filled with adversaries: divorce and recalcitrance… filial ingratitude and severing of family ties… adversity amongst neighbors… scores of violations… hundreds of wanted people… hundreds of claims… suspicious transactions... bad meat... expired food... unfortunate road accidents due to recklessness and high speed... news about drug smugglers... and news about drug addicts and abusers... even suicide (we seek refuge in Allah Almighty), we find some corners and news about it now and then!

I was astonished by what I have read in the political and international pages: a brutal war that topples hundreds and perhaps thousands of deaths... prisons and detentions... crises and problems... issues about natural disasters... earthquakes are moving and erupting... floods and mudslides... tornadoes and thunderstorms... Tsunami here... and conflicts there!

It was not different when I reached the economic pages… the news of the financial crisis is overshadowing people: the Stock market is declining… shares are losing values… prices are soaring high… commodities and goods are rare… false news about financial institutions, to polish them and to enhance their chances in the markets… and so on.

I did not go through the sports section… as they are not free from religiously prohibited matters: exposed body parts (that are forbidden to be exposed)… wasting of time… wasting of money… useless harmful play… stupefaction of the nation… etc.

As a matter of fact… after I have left the papers and magazines… I felt that life has become heavy myself and my feelings…!! It suddenly crossed my mind a picture of the Islamic community… during its glorious days… the days of the best centuries… especially during the time of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, may Allah be pleased with all of them. But how can we go back to such time: it has gone, it has passed… a long period of time separates us… a lot more than a thousand years?

But I have read in science fiction books that there is a machine that takes man through time: backwards or forwards… how about trying it…?

It is an easy simple process… all what we need is pushing the start button… to travel to the time you want: past or present… on the condition that you must modify your outward appearance… so that no one of that time would figure out your reality… and thus you would spoil your journey… so you have to: 1- shorten your clothes… 2- grow a beard… 3- speak in Classical Arabic… 4- arm yourself by: truth… humility… and good manners…

Then… are you ready to go…?? Let’s go… one… two… go…

We thank Allah and praise Him for your safety. We have successfully reached the capital of the righteous Caliphate… the Medina, peace and blessings of Allah be upon its Inhabitant. We are in the era of Al-Fârûq (the word in Arabic means the one who distinguishes truth from falsehood) the Prince of the Believers ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him and please him as well. We preferred to start with visiting the Prophet’s Mosque (following the Sunnah).

We met a man in our way to the mosque. We saluted him (by saying: assalâmu ‘alaykum)… he saluted back in a warm way not familiar to us and in full words (i.e. by saying: assalâmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatu-allah wa barakâtuh)… we said to ourselves let’s ask him about the conditions till we reach the mosque… he asked us before answering: where are you from? We answered: from far away land… after we got acquainted and exchanged our names as it is from the Sunnah… we said to him:

We want to know a quick glimpse of your life… your affaires… your feelings… are you happy? Or are you not? Are you satisfied or dissatisfied? How were you? And how have you become?

He said: O Allah, all praises and thanks be to You… much blessed praise and thanks… for (bestowing upon us) the favor of Islam…

O beloved: before Islam we were living the worst living possible… the strong devours the weak… man was being assaulted… and no one would go to his aid… poverty is severe… ignorance is severer… our leaders were unjust to us… so were the nobles… no one would be fair to us… no man would defend us… we lived by the sidelines of history… we have no strong country… there is no mercy amongst us… we were just like what Allah Glorified and Exalted has described us: in the veils of darkness; one above the other… so He took us away into the light of faith… monotheism… and Islam… there is no humility but to Allah, Glorified and Exalted… there is no worship but to Allah, Glorified and Exalted… we live as brothers: loving… equal… in regards to rights and duties… so we have become in the best living ever… a lot of money… freedom is available for everyone… justice is the basis of life… we are not persecuted by anyone: by any system… any law… or any trick. We have submitted ourselves to Allah Almighty (in Islam): in heart and mind. We have thus relieved ourselves from great distress which many people still persist on. Allah Glorified and Exalted is: More merciful… more knowing… wiser… more acquainted with us, with what is beneficial and better for us. Our law has not been put by ignorant humans… minor minds… the sons of their time and age… it is from the All-Knowing, the All-Aware.

Now you are going into the Mosque. You will find Al-Fârûq ‘Umar, the Prince of the Believers, leading the prayers… without guards… without curtains… he fears no one… as he has not been unjust to anyone… he wishes that any man of the Muslim believers would step forward and take over his position to relieve him of its worries along with the worries of governance… our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has said about ‘Umar: “Oh son of Al-Khattab, by Him in Whose Hands my life is, the Devil has never seen you taking a way but that it took another way other than yours” [Reported by Al-Bukhari].

«إيه يا ابن الخطاب، والذي نفسي بيده، ما لقيك الشيطان سالكا فجا إلا سلك فجا غير فجك» رواه البخاري

We know about him every nook and cranny… his life is simpler and more aesthetic than any other Muslim… he considered himself, in relation to the Muslim treasury, as the guardian to the orphans: if he gets in need, he would take what only suffice him; if he gets a little rich, he refrains from taking anything. He safeguards people at night; and attends to their affairs during the day. He does not sleep but for a little time. After the death of Abu Bakr As-Siddîq, may Allah be pleased with him, the Caliph (successor) after the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, ‘Umar said: “may Allah have mercy on you, you have made it difficult for your successor” [Narrated by trustworthy narrators].

One day, a formidable amount of war booty money was carried to him, may Allah be pleased with him, upon which he said: “The people who have rendered this trust are truly trustworthy. Some people present said: you have rendered the trust to Allah, so they have rendered the trust to you. If you have indulged yourself in luxury, they would have indulged themselves in luxury as well. (i.e. if you have been dishonest they would have been dishonest just as you are)” [The Religious Politics – Ibn Taymiyyah].

We are in a cooperative society… every one exerts from his right… and overlooks his rights for others… seeking for the reward from Allah… a year would pass by without a single dispute taken to the judge… we bring out the charity of our money but we cannot find anyone to take it: out of chastity and abstinence. Men are the best people to their families… and women are the best wives to their husbands. When a man enters his house: a new form of pleasure and happiness is renovated… a pleasure completely different from the pleasure of the society we live in. The husbands do not forget the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:

“The best amongst you is the best to his family” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani].

«خيركم خيركم لأهله» رواه الترمذي وصححه الألباني

And the women do not forget the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: “If I were to order someone to prostrate to other than Allah, I would order a wife to prostrate to her husband” [Authenticated by Al-Albani].

«لو كنت آمرا أحدا أن يسجد لأحد، لأمرت المرأة أن تسجد لزوجها» صححه الألباني

So I am telling you, O beloved, not to deprive yourselves from this bliss… from living by the way of Allah Almighty… and ask the experienced… because this who tasted knows the truth…

After we have reached the mosque, and the prayer has ended, and we saluted the beloved of the Most Merciful, our beloved Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and after we have made a short tour in the streets, the alleys and the surrounding markets where we read out the satisfaction and happiness in the faces of the people… we visited the simple humble markets… which reflect the asceticism of people… their relief of the ways of life… the markets were filled with goods and simple commodities… full of security and safety… no cheating… no fraud… no deception. People buy and sell without fear of prejudice or of giving or being given deficient or insufficient measure. Most of the market goers are men… who greet and salute each other. Women are rarely found in the market… if one is found, she is either in the company of her husband or a man from her muhrims (men she is prohibited to marry: as a father, brother, uncle,…), or she is in the company of a group of women who walk as if they were black crows (because they are veiled from head to toe in black)… nothing is seen from them… the one of them may uncover one eye to see the road.

The time we had our tour was just after the obligatory prayer… some shops has not been opened yet… most likely that their owners have not yet finished praying… some have finished and opened their shops… the closed shops were not totally closed… as one would picture in our present days: huge locks… secret codes… surveillance cameras… security officers by the gates of the compounds… and other manifestations… they do not need any of these things which have not yet been invented on those days… as they live within a community that fears Allah Glorified and Exalted… a community that observes the limits set by Allah… maybe the sign that the shop is closed is that its owner is not inside it.Even the children are playing… running… without any fear or panic… because they live in a Muslim community that observes Allah Glorified and Exalted.(2)

Some frequent touching scenes have attracted our attention:

How many men we have seen helping their servant in their affairs…!

How many men we have seen trying to hide from the eyes of people in order to give a charity to a poor man or a chaste needy… wishing to be away from the eyes of people… out of sincerity to Allah Glorified and Exalted…!

We have seen some man giving advice to his brother… and guiding him secretly… smiling in his face…!

We have seen men embracing each other… maybe one of them is returning from travel or a trade trip…!

We have seen many men advising his client to buy from the shop of his neighbor because his merchandise is better than his…!

How many men we have heard saying loudly the invocation of entering the market… seeking the reward from Allah… and teaching and reminding his fellow Muslim brothers…!

We have seen two men who seemed to be adversaries… when we approached them it became clear that they were a buyer and a seller… the seller wants to lower the price while the buyer says: no, you should charge more… your merchandise is good… it deserves more than that…!

Scenes… images… and wonderful pictures… we have conveyed a part of them for you…

They made us wish that we were from that generation…! The trip has given us an overwhelming happiness in our souls… it has given us extreme joy that Allah has created us Muslims… it has also made us feel the pain about our reality… about the conditions we are living in…!! It has made us feel the amount of loss we are suffering when we drew away from our religion, law and the Book of Allah Almighty… and the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

After such a unique happy journey… we prepared to return back to you – the sons of our generation – by the same time machine we used to travel… to transmit this message for you… from the capital of the Orthodox Islamic Caliphate… the Medina, in the glorious ages of Islam… the era of Al-Fârûq ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him.

In such circumstances we ask Allah Almighty to benefit each Muslim, man and woman, by this message… He is the Powerful to doing this… may Allah reward you… and peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.
