Teaching About the Creator in Simple Terms

How can we help a child to know his Lord?

Praise be to Allah.  A child can be taught about Allah in a suitable manner, according to his level of understanding. He can be told that Allah is One and has no partner. He can be told that He is the Creator of all things, so He is the Creator of the earth, the heavens, people, animals, ... Continue Reading

Dealing With Children Who are Heedless About Prayer

I want to make my children keen to pray, because they will pray once then forget about prayer many times. I always advise them and pray to Allah to guide them. How can I encourage them and make them love prayer?.

Praise be to Allah.Firstly: There is no doubt that prayer is very important and is the most important matter in Islam, as it is the  foundation of religion, the means of success and a sign of piety (taqwa). It is the first thing for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of ... Continue Reading

Whoever does not believe that the kaafirs are kaafirs is himself a kaafir

Is it true that anyone who does not accept that kuffaar are kuffaar is a kaafir himself, even if he prays, believes in the Qur'aan, and the Prophet Muhammad? If so, what is the proof for this? Can a person insist on believing that Jews and Christians can be believers and go to heaven after being shown clear evidence against this, and still be considered a Muslim?

Praise be to Allah.Yes, this is correct. Whoever is not convinced that the person who disbelieves in the religion of Allah is a kaafir, does not believe what Allah has told us about their being kaafirs, and he does not believe that the religion of Islam abrogates all previous religions and that all ... Can a Muslim allow a non-Muslim guest to observe the rituals of kufr in his home?

If a non-Muslim visitor comes and lives in your home for a few days is it permissible that the Muslim host allows him/her to perform their prayers and rituals according to their own religion? Will the Muslim host be considered a sinner in this case as some of the prayers and rituals of other religions may not conform to Islamic beliefs?

Praise be to Allah. Can a Muslim allow a non-Muslim guest to observe the rituals of kufr in his home?We put this question to Shaykh Muhammad Saalih al-'Uthaymeen, who answered as follows:Praise be to Allah. It is not permissible for you to willingly consent to that, because this is kufr and the ... Continue Reading

Being reckless with regard to zina on the grounds that the Muslim who commits sin will never stay in Hell for eternity

What is your response to the one who says that so long as the Muslim has an atom’s weight of faith in his heart, he will enter Paradise even if he commits zina during his lifetime?
What do you say to the wife who betrays her husband by committing the immoral act of zina for the sake of sexual pleasure?.

Praise be to Allaah. The belief of Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa‘ah is that those who commit major sins are subject to the will of Allah. If Allah wills, He will punish them, and if He wills, He will forgive them, and if they are punished, they will not remain in Hell forever. This is what is ... Continue Reading

The non Muslims ask who created Allah

I tell non-Muslims that Allah created everything in this universe. They ask me who created Allah? How can Allaah have been there since the beginning?
How can I answer them?

Praise be to Allah. This question which the non Muslims have asked you is inherently false and self-contradictory. If we were to say -for the sake of argument- that someone created Allah, then they would ask you, Who created the creator of the Creator? Then, who created the creator of the creator of ... Why do the Muslims not celebrate the birthday of ‘Eesa (Jesus-peace be upon him) as they celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)?

If the Muslims celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), why do they not celebrate the birthday of the Prophet of Allah ‘Eesa (peace be upon him)? Is he not a Prophet who was sent from Allah, may He be glorified and exalted? I heard this idea from someone, and I know that Christmas and the celebration thereof is haraam, but I want an answer to this question. May Allah reward you with good.

Praise be to Allah.Firstly: Believing in ‘Eesa (peace be upon him) as a Prophet and Messenger who was sent by Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, to the Children of Israel is part of believing in Allah and His Messengers. No one's faith is valid unless he believes in all of the ... Continue Reading

Evidence of the Existence of God, and the Wisdom Behind His Creation

A non-Muslim friend of mine asked how I could prove the existence of God and why He has given us life, and what its purpose is?
My answer did not satisfy him, please tell me what I should tell him?

Praise be to AllahMy dear Muslim brother, your efforts to call people to Allah and explain the reality of Allah's existence make us very happy. Finding out about Allah is in tune with the sound fitrah (natural inclinations of man) and with sound reasoning. How many there are who, once the truth ... Continue Reading

Collecting donations to give gifts to poor families at Christmas

In my school it is Christmas time. My school has this Christmas tradition. Every year a classroom gets an adopted family that is poor so they can buy gifts, food, and donate money to them for Christmas. Unfortunately, I have refused to donate any money or give any food for the following reason: These denotations will be done in the name of Christmas, so that when the adopted family receives these donations, they will say "God Bless The Christians".
Am I right for refusing to give donations?

Praise be to Allaah. It seems that you are referring to the birth of the Messiah (peace be upon him), an occasion which the Christians venerate and have taken as a festival. The festivals of the Christians are part of their religion, and if the Muslims venerate the festivals of the kuffaar by ... Continue Reading
