Deadly Love

Since 2012-11-21

{But if they answer you not (i.e. do not bring the Book nor believe in your doctrine of Islâmic Monotheism), then know that they only follow their own lusts} [Surat Al-Qasas 28:50].

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah. And prayers and peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family and companions.

Allah almighty says: {But if they answer you not (i.e. do not bring the Book nor believe in your doctrine of Islâmic Monotheism), then know that they only follow their own lusts} [Surat Al-Qasas 28:50].

Transliteration: Fain lam yastajeeboo laka faiAAlam annama yattabiAAoona ahwaahum

And the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) says: “He who imitates (a group of) people, he is one of them” [Reported by Ahmed and Abu Dawud].

Dear Muslim brother and sister:

Many spiritual diseases have begun to spread in the body of the Muslim nation. Among these diseases is celebrating the festivals of the people who earned Allah’s Anger and the people who went astray; such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Mother’s Day and many other holidays that many young Muslim men and women are afflicted with. They have been fascinated with such holidays celebrating them and exchanging gifts among each other in an atmosphere of sins, debauchery and dissipation for satisfying the self, whims and devils, resembling the enemies of the most Gracious in their clothes, behaviors and customs. Among the reasons which led to the dominance of this style (i.e. the style of the satanic people) are the dominance of vice over many means of mass media, weakness of belief, being fascinated with whatever comes from the wrongful people and parents’ parroting to the verses of the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) without practically applying them in the family life for guarding the religion of Allah, which there is no religion better than it.

O you who belong to the nation of Muhammad (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) and await what is called ‘Valentine’s Day’ to celebrate it;

Is it love for the sake of Allah? Is it renewing to your love to the parents and poor people to have it in the utmost degree? Does it lead to a virtue?

No, this kind of love is a road to sins, misery and vice.

Which kind of love would be accepted from the stray people who made partners to Allah in this love till they killed sincerity, which is a reason for accepting the deeds of the servant. Allah Almighty said: {and of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allâh as rivals (to Allâh). They love them as they love Allâh} [Surat Al-Baqarah 2:165].

Transliteration: Wamina alnnasi man yattakhithu min dooni Allahi andadan yuhibboonahum kahubbi Allahi

Such kind of love is the origin of misery. No people stay in the eternal torment except those who had such love; and indeed Allah is Severe in punishment.

Which kind of love could be taken from people who don’t follow the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him)?!

How could a Muslim celebrate a holiday not approved by Allah and His Messenger; rather it is approved by people cooperating against the weak people. They invaded Muslims’ homes, shed their blood, widowed their women, made their children orphans, plundered their money and used all shapes of criminality, ruin, injustice and deprivation.

Which kind of love is in a holiday they call it ‘The Holiday of Lovers’?! They mean the lovers of the abnormal relations between the males and females that was the reason of having Allah’s Anger descended upon. Allah Almighty says: {So when Our Commandment came, We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down, and rained on them stones of baked clay, in a well-arranged manner one after another; Marked from your Lord; and they are not ever far from the Zâlimûn (the sodomite nation polytheists, evil-doers)} [Surat Hud 11:82-83].

Transliteration: Falamma jaa amruna jaAAalna AAaliyaha safilahawaamtarna AAalayha hijaratan min sijjeelin mandoodin (82) Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika wama hiya mina alththalimeena bibaAAeedin

Which kind of love is this! It is a holiday for the lovers of killing chastity, shyness and reviving the prohibited relations that destroyed many families spreading the destructive diseases in the east and west.

These are the holidays which are made by the hands of men descended to the lowest degrees of indecency, meanness, filth and loss in families and social relations; they sank to the lowest degrees of imperfection and heart’s hardness, although they have achieved the highest degrees in the scientific and technological progress. Allah Almighty said: {So woe to those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allâh! They are in plain error!} [Surat Az-Zumar 39:22],

Transliteration: fawaylun lilqasiyati quloobuhum minthikri Allahi olaika fee dalalin mubeenin

But why are they in plain error? Because they followed their own way and turned away from the way of Allah that was going to make them gain Allah’s promise; He Almighty said: {If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allâh, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islâm) We would surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance} [Surat Al-Jinn 72:16].

Transliteration: Waallawi istaqamoo AAala alttareeqati laasqaynahum maan ghadaqan

O you who waiting the so called ‘February’ to celebrate ‘Valentine’s Day’!

There is great difference between the man-made months and the months of the most Gracious along with the seasons of obedience and gaining the blessings. So, let us pause a moment at month Dhul-Hijja to know some of its fruits and blessings which are bestowed upon us by the Lord of the heavens and earth.

In our month, Dhul-Hijja, the Muslims go to Makkah the blessed and travel long distances tolerating the hardships of travel, leaving behind their families and the beloved people along with the worldly life, its affairs and pleasures to have a journey to Allah seeking His pleasure and performing the ritual of Hajj to return in a state like their state at the day of their birth. The Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) says: “He who performed Hajj, and neither had sexual intercourse nor being obscene, would return (free from sin) as on the (very first day) his mother bore him.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

When a child is born by his mother, he comes to the worldly life at the religion of Allah (i.e. the religion of purity and cleanness) with a heart free from all kinds of diseases; he neither has grief nor solicitude nor bestial lusts, and if he died, he would meet Allah with sound heart and would enter the paradise of felicity. The new born child has innocence and purity; his soul is tranquil, his heart is white and pure from the filths of the worldly life (e.g. envy, lie, deceive, arrogance, doubt, injustice); he does not cause harm to people’s properties, honors or bodies. His private parts are in a distance from major sins which would cause Allah’s anger and his hand is not polluted by wrongly eating people’s properties. How beautiful is the tongue of this child! He is purified by Allah from curse, backbiting, talebearing, false testimony, debauchery and dissoluteness. In his face there is a light no body feels boredom because of long looking at it. The hands exchange him and kiss him again and again. No body hates him; he is loved by all and enshrouded with care, love, compassion and consent. He is purified by Allah from polytheism, infidelity and sins, whether they are major or minor.

In Dhul-Hijja, there is a holiday, not like the holidays of all other nations. In this holiday, there are great wisdoms, noble exalted meanings, and beautiful fruits cause happiness; such things are not available in any other holiday. This is because our holiday is one of the great acts of worship and is educational school like all other great schools which brought to us by the best created being, Muhammad Ibn Abdullah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him), who had been sent by Allah the Exalted the Glorious as mercy to the worlds. In such school, we learn the rights of Allah, parents, neighbors, poor people and people in general. Moreover; in this holiday, uniting the ties of kinship reaches its peak by visiting the relatives, neighbors, exchanging gifts and pleasing the children by all kinds of pure games. All of these things occur in an atmosphere filled with love, justice, faithfulness and sincerity.

In our holiday, we fear Allah and seek nearness with Him by sacrificing an animal reminds us with the miracle of Allah the Exalted the Glorious. We remember the story of Ibrahim (best prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) and his dream; it is a story that teaches men and jinn the essence of Islam, which is submission to Allah and giving priority to loving Him over any other love. We sacrifice our properties, selves and everything we have for His sake. It is a story that teaches us obeying Allah, obeying, parents and it tells us that after the distress there is relief, by the will of the One God. Moreover, it teaches us that the believer is liable to the tests in the worldly life; hence, if he became patient in seeking Allah’s reward and hold fast to loving Allah and obeying Him, Allah would reward him with much good in the worldly life and hereafter too. This is what happened to Ibrahim (peace be upon him); when he got rid of the feelings of fatherhood and gave priority to loving Allah over loving his son, he became one of the beneficent persons whom Allah prepared for the Gardens under which rivers flow (i.e. in Paradise) to dwell therein forever.

Our holiday is a holiday of mercy, charity, obedience, uniting the ties of kinship and cooperation. In our holiday, the one-body nation displays its cordiality, mercy and compassion; these permanent meanings and characteristics dominate the young and old, the poor and rich, the white and black and red; nothing makes one better than another but fearing Allah.

Our holiday is a holiday of cheerfulness has in its folds all meanings of love, mercy and joy without any debauchery, dissipation or dissoluteness. Feeling the feelings of the others, which is the noblest and kindest human characteristic, appears in our holiday. When we feel pleasure and joy we do not forget that there are oppressed people their honors are defiled and their properties are plundered and they are liable to genocide. We do not forget that there are people belong to us are slaughtered daily, in front of the whole world, without committing any guilt.

When we play enjoying safety and security, we do not forget our brothers who had their children slaughtered between their hands and their homes demolished upon their heads and they have been exiled. We do not forget the injustice prisons that hundreds of thousands men, women, children, disabled and patient people live in today in Palestine. When the Muslim families enjoy the holiday and feel pleasure along with their children, they remember that there are orphans, widows; disabled and poor people need help.

In our holiday, we remember all of those along with others, so we do not steal, wrong others or lead a dissolute life or indulge in debauchery; rather we pray to Allah that He may help the oppressed. Furthermore, we help them by whatever we could present. So, does the month of those who believe in Valentine’s Day and those who follow them and those who resemble them have such love, sublimity, gifts and grants?!

O you who are the best of people ever raised up for mankind, our religion is love, calls for the legitimated love; the lofty great chaste love that is to love Allah His Messenger, the prophets, the companions and the pious people.

Firstly, we have the greatest and loftiest love; the love that is the origin of happiness and nobody will escape the torment without it. We love Allah, the Exalted, love is mixed with complete humility and submission; we follow His orders and abstain from whatever is forbidden by Him; we seek nearness with Him by putting trust in Him, repentance, purification, patience, fearing Him, justice, beneficence and being away from injustice, arrogance, wasting, abuse, deception, corruption and having loyalty to the infidels or resembling them. We seek nearness with Allah by fulfilling the orders and abstaining from all the prohibited things; we seek nearness with Allah by doing the supererogatory acts of worship to gain the love that makes Him, the Exalted, calls Jibreel to tell him about that love and orders him to call all of those who are in the heavens to tell them about that love and orders them to love him as he is loved by Allah before having acceptation in the earth bestowed upon him. We seek nearness with Allah by loving the best human being, Muhammad Ibn Abdullah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him), love is never achieved well without following him. Allah Almighty says: {Say (O Muhammad, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, to mankind): "If you (really) love Allâh then follow me (i.e. accept Islâmic Monotheism, follow the Qur’ân and the Sunnah), Allâh will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."} [Surat Al-Imran 3:31].

Transliteration: Qul in kuntum tuhibboona Allaha faittabiAAoonee yuhbibkumu Allahu wayaghfir lakumthunoobakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

None could relish the sweetness of faith except he who loves Allah and His Messenger more than anyone else. It is reported in the two Sahihs on the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “There are three qualities for which anyone who is characterized by them will relish the sweetness of faith: he to whom Allah and His Messenger are dearer than anything else; he who loves a man for Allah's sake alone; and he who has as great an abhorrence of returning to unbelief after Allah has rescued him from it as he has of being cast into Hell.”

«ثلاث من كن فيه وجد بهن حلاوة الإيمان: من كان الله ورسوله أحب إليه مما سواهما، وأن يحب المرء لا يحبه إلا لله، وأن يكره أن يعود في الكفر بعد أن أنقذه الله منه كما يكره أن يقذف في النار» رواه البخاري ومسلم

We love the home of monotheism and the cradle of the creed; our blood and all our properties are cheap in return of its safety, stability and glory. We support our rulers against whoever tries to unstable it, because it is the place where revelation had been revealed and light had been come and lightened, and still lightens, all the world; moreover, it contains the most sacred two places in the whole universe to which all Muslims come to complete fulfilling the pillars of Islam and visit them before returning to their homes having their worship accepted and their sins forgiven by the will of Allah Almighty.

We love our relatives, parents, wives, children and other legitimated things in the worldly life. However, it is not love like our love to Allah and His Messenger, nor does it divert us from remembering He Who says: {O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allâh} [Surat Al-Munafiqun 63:9].

Transliteration: Ya ayyuha allatheenaamanoo la tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukum AAanthikri Allahi

Our love is for the sake of Allah; indeed the strongest tie of belief is to love for the sake of Allah and to hate for His sake. When we love, we love for the sake of Allah and hate for His sake; we give for the sake of Allah and abstain from giving for His sake. It is narrated that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said “that a person visited his brother in another town and Allah deputed an Angel to wait for him on his way, and when he came to him he said: Where do you intend to go? He said: I intend to go to my brother in this town. He said: Have you done any favor to him (the repayment of which you intend to get)? He said: No, except that I love him for the sake of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. Thereupon the angel said: I am a messenger to you from Allah (to inform you) that Allah loves you as you love him (for His sake).” [Reported by Muslim].

«أن رجلا زار أخا له في قرية أخرى، فأرصد الله له على مدرجته ملكا. فلما أتى عليه قال: أين تريد؟ قال: أريد أخا لي في هذه القرية. قال: هل لك عليه من نعمة تربها؟ قال: لا، غير أني أحببته في الله عز وجل. قال: فإني رسول الله إليك، بأن الله قد أحبك كما أحببته فيه» رواه مسلم

We love for the sake of Allah, because we know that those who love each other for the sake of Allah will be in the shade of the thrown on the day when there is no shade but His; it is a place is envied by the prophets and martyrs.

Dear parents;

Your sons and daughters are a trust in your necks, you will be asked about them on the Day of Judgment. Therefore, you should care for raising them well; you should remind them to beware of having bad company, because the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “A person is on (follows) the religion of his friend.” [Reported by Al-Albani with a good chain of transmission].

«المرء على دين خليله...» أخرجه الألباني بإسناد حسن

O you, ruler, you should know that Allah has threatened whoever remises his people; the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If Allah appointed any ruler over people and he died while he was still treacherous to his people, Allah would forbid his entry to Paradise.” [Reported by Muslim].

«ما من عبد يسترعيه الله رعية، يموت يوم يموت وهو غاش لرعيته، إلا حرم الله عليه الجنة» رواه مسلم

O young Muslim men and women, if a great portion of the young Muslim men and women do not acknowledge this holiday, but they follow up its ceremonies through the media; I am afraid that this may be a road to desiring it, accepting it and holding fast to it. Then, this may lead to deviation that has detested consequences, especially after knowing that the enemies of Allah use the media for changing the values, principals and having intellectual dominance; they expectorate their poisons through the media, so you should beware.

Dear sister and brother,

Any love aims to disobeying Allah Almighty will turn to be enmity on the Day of Judgment; Allah Almighty says: {Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqûn (the pious)} [Surat Az-Zukhruf 43:67].

Transliteration: Alakhillao yawmaithin baAAduhum libaAAdin AAaduwwun illa almuttaqeena

Any boy or girl celebrating Valentine’s Day believing in it or committing sins in it (e.g. drinking alcohol, hearing the music of Satan, neglecting prayers … etc), has killed his/her heart and cared only for his/her desires. If he/she loved, it would be for his/her whims; if he/she hated, it would be for his/her whims; if he/she gave, it would be for his/her whims; and if he/she prevented, it would be for his/her whims. His/her whims are dearer to him/her than having Allah’s satisfaction.

Ibn Al-Qayim (may Allah almighty mercy him) says in “Rawdat Al-Muhibbin” that he is afraid that whoever follows the whims may fall into disbelieving without knowing that, because it is narrated with authentic chain of transmission that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The things which I fear most for you are the desires of loss in your stomachs and private parts and the aberrance of whims.” [Authenticated by Ibn Al-Qayim].

«أخوف ما أخاف عليكم شهوات الغي في بطونكم وفروجكم ومضلات الهوى» صححه ابن القيم

Al-Fudail Ibn ‘Iyad says: “He who is dominated by the whims and following the desires will not have the supplies of success.”

This is a reminder to get away from the ways of those who gained Allah’s wrath and those who are stray, because they are ways of ignominy, disgrace, regret and remorse; Allah Almighty says in Surat Al-Furqan: {And (remember) the Day when the Zâlim (wrong-doer, oppressor, polytheist) will bite at his hands, he will say: "Oh! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger (Muhammad, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him). Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a Khalîl (an intimate friend)! He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur’ân) after it had come to me. And Shaitân (Satan) is to man ever a deserter in the hour of need."} [Surat Al-Furqan 25:27-29].

O Allah, I ask You Your Love and loving a deed gets me closer to Your Love. O Allah, make whatever I have and love support for loving You. O Allah, make whatever I love and do not have reason for having time for doing whatever You love. O Allah, bestow upon me Your love, the love of Your angels, prophets, messengers and pious servants; O Allah, make me among those who love You and love Your angels, Prophets, messengers and pious servants. O Allah, enliven my heart with loving You and make me toward You as You like me to be. O Allah, make me love You with all my heart and satisfy You with all my effort. O Allah, make all my love for Your sake and make all my deeds for Your satisfaction.

And prayers and peace of Allah be upon our Prophet and Beloved, Muhammad, and all his family and companions.
