The Sufis

Since 2012-11-11

The word ‘Sufi’ was not known in the time of the Messenger or the companions or the followers. Then a group of the ascetics wore wool, which is called in Arabic ‘Suf’, so they are called ‘Sufis’.

Sufis’ origin:

The word ‘Sufi’ was not known in the time of the Messenger or the companions or the followers. Then a group of the ascetics wore wool, which is called in Arabic ‘Suf’, so they are called ‘Sufis’. Also, it is said that it is driven from the Greek word ‘Sofia’ which means ‘wisdom’. Also, it is said that it is driven from the Arabic word ‘Safa’, which means ‘purity’; however, this is not true, because if it was true, they would have called ‘Safaiis’ not ‘Sufis’.

Sufis’ sects:

At-Tijaniyyah (which is the most dangerous sect), Al-Qaderiyyah, An-Naqshabandiyyah, Ash-Shadhliyyah, Ar-Rifa’iyyah and others. Some of these sects had gone with the time, and now there are sects that do not have fame and their followers are very few, which prevent them from being spread quickly; however, this does not mean that they are not dangerous.

Sufis’ invocation:

Sufis invoke other than Allah Almighty; they invoke the prophets and pious, whether they are alive or dead. They usually repeat “O Messenger of Allah, help… help” or “O Messenger of Allah, we put trust in you.” Some of them call the deceased persons (e.g. O Jilani … O Rifa’ei … O Shadhli). Actually, this is ‘plain polytheism’, because they say: “O (somebody), provide me … help me … cure me!”, although Allah Almighty forbids invoking other than Him and considers that polytheism; He the Exalted the Glorious says: {And invoke not besides Allâh, any such that will neither profit you nor harm you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)} [Yunus 10:106]

Transliteration: Wa Lā Tad`u Min Dūni Allāhi Mā Lā Yanfa`uka Wa Lā Yađurruka Fa'in Fa`alta Fa'innaka 'Idhāan Mina Až-Žālimīna

And the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) says: “Invocation is the worship.” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani]

«الدعاء هو العبادة» رواه الترمذي وصححه الألباني

Invocation is worship like prayer; it is not permissible to invoke other than Allah, even if the invoked one is a messenger or a pious person. Furthermore, it is major polytheism that nullifies the good deeds and makes its doer reside forever in Hellfire (we seek refuge with Allah from that) {Verily, Allâh forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills} [An-Nisâ`: 48].

Transliteration: 'Inna Allāha Lā Yaghfiru 'An Yushraka Bihi Wa Yaghfiru Mā Dūna Dhālika Liman Yashā'u

Worshipping Allah:

Do you know that the Sufis say: “We do not worship Allah because of desiring His Paradise or fearing His Fire”? However, Allah, the Exalted the Glorious, praises the prophets who call Him for desiring His Paradise and fearing His punishment; He Almighty says: {So We answered his call, and We bestowed upon him Yahyâ (John), and cured his wife (to bear a child) for him. Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us.} [Al-Anbiyâ` 21:90]

Transliteration: Fāstajabnā Lahu Wa Wahabnā Lahu Yaĥya Wa 'Aşlaĥnā Lahu Zawjahu 'Innahum Kānū Yusāri`ūna Fī Al-Khayrāti Wa Yad`ūnanā Raghabāan Wa Rahabāan Wa Kānū Lanā Khāshi`īna

Sufis’ remembrance:

Sufis consider dancing, raising voice during the remembrance and playing the musical instruments as lawful things; although Allah almighty says: {Who perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât) and spend out of that We have provided them.} [Al-Anfâl 8:3]

Transliteration: Al-Ladhīna Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Mimmā Razaqnāhum Yunfiqūna

Raising the voice during remembrance and invocation is forbidden, because Allah Almighty says: {Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors} [Al-`A’râf 7:55]

Transliteration: Ad`ū Rabbakum Tađarru`āan Wa Khufyatan 'Innahu Lā Yuĥibbu Al-Mu`tadīna

In fact, their remembrance is strange and comical in sometimes! For example, they begin remembering Allah by saying “Allah … Allah … Allah” and they continue saying it till they finally say “Ah … Ah … Ah.” They forget the saying of the Generous Messenger (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him): “The best remembrance is (saying) La Ilaha Illa Allah (there is no god but Allah).” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and declared good by Al-Albani]

«أفضل الذكر لا إله إلاّ الله» رواه الترمذي وحسنه الألباني

Moreover, they create remembrances, for praying upon the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him), which includes polytheism and infidelity Allah knows them best. For example, they say: “O Allah, give prayers to Muhammad till you make him the one the sustainer and protector of all that exists”; we know that these attributes are for Allah alone!

Sayings of Sufis’ leaders:

1) Ibn ‘Arabi (who is one from the most prominent Sufis) thinks that Allah is the created being and that the created being is Allah! He expresses that by saying: “He praises me and I praise Him, and He worships me and I worship Him”.

2) Al-Junaid requires from the beginner not to have his heart occupied by three things; gaining provision, learning the Hadeeth and Marriage!

Also, he does not want him to read or write. And he justifies this by saying that reading and writing gather the solicitudes upon the beginner. However, the real reason is that facilitates betraying you.

3) Abu Yazid Al-Bistami used to say about himself: “Glorified me, glorified me, how great I am!” Another one used to say: “None in the cloak but Allah” addressing himself when he puts on the cloak.

Satan’s supporters: The acts which are done by some of those who create new things in the religion (i.e. beating themselves with the swords or eating fire) are acts of Satan; it is inveiglement for them to continue going in their astray, Allah Almighty says: {And whosoever turns away blindly from the remembrance of the Most Gracious (Allâh) (i.e. this Qur’ân and worship of Allâh), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarîn (a companion) to him} [Az-Zukhruf: 36].

Transliteration: Wa Man Ya`shu `An Dhikri Ar-Raĥmāni Nuqayyiđ Lahu Shayţānāan Fahuwa Lahu Qarīnun

And it is known that the Indian unbelievers do such things and more; hence, could we say that they are pious and these are their miracles?! Where is the mind!

Seeing Allah and His Messenger: Those fools pretend that Allah, the Exalted the Glorious, could be seen in the worldly life!

Allah narrated about Moses: {he said: "O my Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You." Allâh said: "You cannot see Me} [Al-`A’râf: 143].

Transliteration: Qāla Rabbi 'Arinī 'Anžur 'Ilayka Qāla Lan Tarānī

And it is narrated in the authentic Hadeeth that the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “You will never see Allah till you die.”

«ولا ترون ربكم حتى تموتوا» صححه الألباني

Hence, how could those ignorant people pretend seeing Allah in the worldly life?!

Also, they pretend that the Messenger of Allah could be seen in the state of awakening not the state of sleep!

Actually, it had never transmitted that one of the companions (the people of the best century) saw the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) in a state of awakening, after his death.

So, are they better than the companions?

Great word:

Imam Ash-Shafe’i (may Allah mercy him) said: “If a man became Sufi at the morning, surly he will be fool at the coming of Dhuhr (noon).”

Allegations:

1) Ibn ‘Arabi used to say about his book Al-Futuhat Al-Makkiyyah that it contains absolute facts (cannot be argued like Qur`an!

2) Al-Hallaj used to pretend that many messages are revealed to him by the hand-writing of Allah, the Exalted the Glorious!

3) Muhammad Al-Marghani used to pretend that whoever saw him or saw who saw him (till five) he would not be touched by Hellfire!

4) Ahmed At-Tijani said: “Allah is able to create a great pious person after me, but He will not do.” When he was asked: “Why?” He said: “It is like His ability to create a prophet after Muhammad, but He will not do.”

Incredible:

1) They seek mercy to Satan (may Allah curse him)!

2) They pretend that Pharaoh is more knowledgeable than Moses (peace be upon him)!

3) They declare that the people of Nûh will not be reckoned for polytheism!

4) They salute the dogs and pigs!

Does the person who does such acts have a brain? Indeed no.

The evidence of Sufis’ danger:

The secrecy by which those people envelop their meetings, names and lessons is the greatest evidence for the danger and wrong of their way; if they were on the right path, they would not have such secrecy.

Word to a Sufi:

The fact which does not appear to you along with the other followers is that those false sheikhs are astray and got others astray; they made people, none knows them but Allah alone, go astray.

By Allah, how do you affiliate in a group of people their most well-known leader pretends that Allah reveals to him, although revelation is for the prophets only, and another one among them glorifies himself and says: “Glorified me, glorified me, how great I am!” and another one says that Allah writes to him messages by His Own hand-writing?!

Is it logical for anybody to cast himself in the destruction and Hellfire and follow those insane people?

You should know that those charlatans ask you not to read, discuss or ask. And by this way, they became able to control you and lead you to the loss and stray.

Question: If I asked somebody to obey me without questioning or discussion, what would you think about him?

Answer: Surly, he will be like a doll in my hand and I will do to him whatever I like, even if this led to his destruction and death this is what happens in Sufism.

Sufis and the graves:

Sufis set out journeys for the graves, to seek blessings from their corpses or circumambulate round them or slaughter for them, without paying attention to the saying of the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him): “Do not set out on a journey (for religious devotion) but for three Masjids; the Sacred Masjid (In Makka), this Masjid of mine (at Madina) and the Masjid Al-Aqsa (Bait Al-Maqdis).” [Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

«لا تشد الرحال إلاّ إلى ثلاثة مساجد: المسجد الحرام، ومسجدي هذا، والمسجد الأقصى» رواه البخاري ومسلم

You can imagine what happens at graves (e.g. polytheism and seeking help from the corpses or invoking them)!

Sufis and the celebrations:

There are yearly celebrations. Every sect has special celebration for its sheikh. For example; there is a special celebration for Al-Badawi where about 2.000.000 people attend this celebration! By Allah, this is a fact, and he who wants to be sure about that should ask and he will hear about strange and incredible affairs. Those Sufis sometimes exalt their false sheikhs to a rank equals the rank of Allah and declare them disposers to the affairs of the universe with Him! Also, there is a celebration is called “The gathering of pray upon the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him)” in which they say poems that contain Major polytheism; such as declaring that the Prophet is the one who lightens the universe and relieve the hardships, although it is known for every Muslim that it is Allah alone Who does this.

Their belief in Satan:

Allah cursed Satan and expelled him from His Mercy and casted His Wrath upon him till the Day of Judgment. However, those Sufis praise Satan and glorify him pretending that he is the most perfect servant to Allah and the best monotheist, because he did not prostrate himself to a creature like himself when he was ordered by Allah to prostrate himself to Adam; he prostrated himself to Allah alone!

We ask Allah to gather them with him, if they did not repent and neglect their myths and false beliefs.

Their books:

Sufis have well-known books written by their masters, in the past and recent times. Among these books are;

1) Al-Futuhat Al-Makkiyyah by Ibn ‘Arabi,
2) Qout Al-Qulub by Al-Jawni,
3) At-Tawasin by Al-Hallaj.

These books are sufficient reason for getting in Hellfire and living in it forever for hoever read them and practiced what is mentioned in them.

Finally:

What do you think about their sayings and beliefs, after what you have read? Do these sects deserve to be followed or deserve to have its fact unveiled?

Let us imagine the status of the society if such groups have been neglected without deterrence or observation. These sects have new created remembrances and acts of worship are seed of isolation from the society, and if the field is left empty for them, they would propagate destructive thoughts and creeds that oppose monotheism.

In short … O Sufis, when will you wake up?! You should know that this way is the way of strayness and wrong; you will gain nothing from your deeds but loss in the worldly life and hereafter too.

You should repent and return to Allah before you say: {My Lord! Send me back, So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!} [Al-Mu`minûn 23:99-100]

Transliteration: Rabbi Arji`ūni (99) La`allī 'A`malu Şāliĥāan Fīmā Taraktu

Dear brother, you have only to be honest with Allah and you will find the help and success from the One.

And prayers and peace of Allah be upon our prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
