Fajr Prayer

Since 2012-11-17

'He who observed 'Asr and Fajr would enter Paradise.' [Agreed upon]

All praise is due to Allah, and prayers and peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah.

Dear beloved brother,

O Muslim boy,

Here, we came back (by the mercy of Allah) to hold our meeting for the second brick in the building; building your character. Do you know this brick?

Ask yourself; do you really hold fast to the religion?

So; do you pray Fajr, daily, in the masjid in congregation?

Dear brother, you should know that observing Fajr prayer in congregation has special importance. It is narrated on the authority of Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “He who observed ‘Asr and Fajr would enter Paradise.” [Agreed upon]

And the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “He who observed prayer before the rising of the sun and its setting (i.e. Fajr prayer and Asr prayer), will not enter the (Hell) fire.” [Reported by Muslim]

And he also said: “He who prayed Fajr prayer (in congregation) he is in fact under the protection of Allah. So do not wander away from his protection, for If He (Allah) finds you (doing so) He would then throw him in the fire of Hell” (Reported by Muslim).

This Hadith includes threat from Allah to whoever wrongs a believer prays Fajr prayer in congregation, because he desecrated a person under the protection of Allah.

And it is narrated that Al-Hajjaj ordered Salim ibn Abdullah to kill a man. Then Salim asked that man: “did you pray Fajr (in congregation)?” The man said: “yes.” Whereupon Salim said to him: “then, go.” And when Al-Hajjaj asked him: “why did you not kill him?” he said: “my father told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) says: ‘He who prays Fajr (in congregation) will remain under the protection of Allah all that day’ Therefore, I hated killing a man under Allah’s protection.” [Al-Albani said that it is authentic by the virtue of another Hadith].

And the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) declared that Fajr and ‘Ishâ prayers are the heaviest prayers upon the hypocrites “and if they knew the reward of the evening and morning prayers, they would come to it even crawling.” [Agreed upon]

And the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When any one of you goes to sleep, the devil ties three knots at the back of his neck, sealing every knot with: “You have a long night, so sleep.” So if one awakes and mentions Allah, a knot will be loosened; if he performs ablution two knots are loosened; and if he prays (all) knots will be loosened, and in the morning he will be active and in good spirit; otherwise we will be in bad spirit and sluggish in the morning.” [Reported by Muslim]

So, Satan does his best to prevent the Muslim person from doing the good. However, remembering Allah and worshipping Him leads to having vigor and chest openness; moreover, it prevents laziness, sluggishness, relief the hardships and solicitudes.

Among the things that help the Muslim to observe Fajr prayer in congregation are:

1-   Observing the acts of obedience during the day.

2-   Saying the remembrance of sleep and sleeping after performing ablution.

3-   Saying as many invocations as you can.

4-   Sleeping early.

5-   Intending to wake up for Fajr prayer.

6-   To cooperate with your brothers for wakening each other and to use the available tools for waking up.

7-   When you wake up, you should get immediately out of the bed.

8-   Remembering the divine protection and the great reward of observing prayer in congregation.

To be continued (by the will of Allah)…
