Rushing upon the holidays of the Christians
- Categories: General -
To the bewildered Muslims who rush
upon the holidays of the Christians
After your praising of
Allah for at least seventeen times every day and night; you say in
your prayer: {Guide us to the Straight Way} [Surat Al-Fatiha:
6]
Transliteration:
Ihdina
alssirata
almustaqeema
Then you specify the signs of
this way and say: {The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your
Grace} [Surat Al-Fatiha: 7]
Transliteration:
Sirata
allatheena anAAamta AAalayhim
Which means the way of the
Prophets, the Siddîqûn (i.e. those followers of the Prophet, who
were first and foremost to believe in him, like Abu Bakr As-Siddîq)
and the righteous; it is the way that Allah Almighty specified and
His Messenger (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) manifested
its signs. Then, you specify another description to distinguish
this way from the other ways and say: {not (the way) of those who
earned Your Anger (i.e. those who knew the Truth, but did not
follow it)} the Jews {nor of those who went astray (i.e. those who
did not follow the Truth out of ignorance and error)} [Surat
Al-Fatiha: 7] the Christians.
Transliteration:
ghayri almaghdoobi
AAalayhim
walaalddalleena
Surat Al-Fatiha, which is
memorized by every illiterate Muslim aside from every Muslim
thinker and journalist, declares that being dissimilar to the Jews
and Christians in all their acts of worship is purposed by the
prudent legislator. This is ascertained by the saying of Allah
Almighty: {Then We have put you (O Muhammad, prayers and peace of
Allah be upon him) on a (plain) way of (Our) commandment [like the
one which We commanded Our Messengers before you (i.e. legal ways
and laws of the Islâmic Monotheism)]. So follow you that (Islâmic
Monotheism and its laws), and follow not the desires of those who
know not} [Surat Al-Jathiya: 18].
Transliteration:

AAala shareeAAatin mina alamri
faittabiAAha wala tattabiAA

Therefore, following the
straight path requires being dissimilar to the people of
hellfire.
That is why being dissimilar
to the habits and worships of the Jews and Christians were among
the guidance of our generous Messenger (prayers and peace of Allah
be upon him). He prayed in his shoes because the Jews do not pray
while putting them on. Also, he recommended dying the white hair of
the old person, because Jews and Christians do not do that. And he
prohibited building a Masjid over the graves, to be dissimilar from
the Jews and Christians. Moreover, he recommended clipping the
mustaches and letting the beards grow to be dissimilar to them. And
he recommended having Suhur meal, when fasting, because the Jews
and Christians do not do that. Also, he prohibited observing
prayer, with no reason, at sunrise or sunset, because it is the
time in which the infidels prostrate themselves for it. The Prophet
continued doing such acts of dissimilarity till it became
intolerable to the infidels who said: "What does this man want? He
left nothing we do but he did its opposite!" Furthermore, scholars
declared that being dissimilar to the Jews and Christians does not
differ from being dissimilar to Satan, because he is the pioneer of
their way and the imam of their religion.
As long as the Prophet
(prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) used to be dissimilar to
the Jews and Christians in the way of observing the act when it is
observed by them too (e.g. fasting Ashura day, in which he sought
dissimilarity to them by recommending fasting a day before it),
then what would we say about holidays and acts of worships were
originated by them (e.g. Christmas and the new years eve)!
Actually, the scholars declared that having agreement with them in
such holidays, congratulating them, presenting gifts to them or
accepting gifts from them is prohibited in the Islamic Shari'ah; it
is a kind of taking them as supporters and accepting their false
creed and abrogated religion which is based on the invalid base
{Allâh is the third of the three} [Surat Al-Maidah: 73]
Transliteration:
inna Allaha
thalithu thalathatin
{Whereby the heavens are
almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall
in ruins} [Surat Maryam: 90].
Transliteration:
Takadu
alssamawatu yatafattarna
minhu watanshaqqu alardu watakhirru aljibalu
haddan
By Allah, just bearing witness
to these holidays is prohibited and grave evil, because He Almighty
says: {And those who do not bear witness to falsehood} [Surat
Al-Furqan: 72].
Transliteration:

The majority of the scholars
of interpretation said: "It is the holidays of the polytheists."
Hence, what about approving their doing and sending them the very
warm greetings!
In the time of the Prophet
(prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) a man took a vow to
slaughter a camel at Buwanah. So he came to the Prophet (prayers
and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: I have taken a vow to
sacrifice a camel at Buwanah. The Prophet (prayers and peace of
Allah be upon him) asked: "Did the place contain any idol
worshipped in pre-Islamic times?" He (the man) said: No. Then the
Prophet asked: "Was any pre-Islamic festival observed there?" The
man replied: No. Whereupon, the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah
be upon him) said: "Fulfill your vow, for a vow to do an act of
disobedience to Allah must not be fulfilled." [Reported by Abu
Dawud and authenticated by Al-Albani]
This Hadeeth proved that
slaughtering sacrifices and seeking nearness to Allah at the places
of their holidays is disobedience, and this implies nullifying
their holiday and declaring its prohibition. Moreover, that is why
Omar Ibn Al-Khattab prevented
the Muslims from having the festivals of the polytheists shared by
Muslims; and he said: "Do not learn the jargon of the Persian or go
to the polytheists in their churches at their holiday, because
wrath gets down upon them (in this time)."
We send this doctrinal
correction to the authors who breastfed from the breast of the
defected secularism and grew up in its lap; then their pens vomited
deadly poison and they wrote, on account of sympathy with their
beloved Christian brothers, to denounce the sayings of the
religious scholars who prevent sharing the festivals of the
Christians at the new years. In fact, they still play, in excessive
stupidity and plain defeatism, on the string of the religious
magnanimity. They strongly defend the religions of infidelity and
the advocators of aberration. On the other hand, we did not read a
single word written by them for defending the Prophet (prayers and
peace of Allah be upon him) when their beloved people mocked and
belittled him. Could the rank of the prophets become low in your
eyes and you prefer to be deaf, dumb, blind and do not care? Then;
on the other hand, you are wrongly vigilant in guarding the impure
polytheists!
Here, you tolerate and
sympathize, while they curse and declare polytheism! You send
congratulations, while they still kill and exterminate! Hence, when
will you understand and be sane?!
The fact that may be absent to
those people is that the issue is not confined to presenting
congratulations and sharing the holidays and festivals. Actually,
the aim is further than this; they will not accept from you
something less than being like them and following their religion
and getting in the hole of the lizard with them. Allah Almighty
said: {Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you
(O Muhammad, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) till you
follow their religion} [Surat Al-Baqarah: 120],
Transliteration:
Walan tarda AAanka
alyahoodu walaalnnasara
hatta tattabiAAa millatahum
And the Prophet (prayers and
peace of Allah be upon him) said: "You would tread the same path as
was trodden by those before you inch by inch and step by step so
much so that if they had entered into the hole of the lizard, you
would follow them in this also." They said: "O Messenger of Allah,
do you mean Jews and Christians?" He said: "Who else (than those
two religious groups)?" [Ibn Taimiyyah, authentic]
Magnanimity never means
blandishment and being satisfied with false and plain infidelity.
There is a clear line between monotheism and polytheism, belief and
disbelief, declaring support to the monotheists and renouncing
polytheists (i.e. Al-Walaa` Wal Baraa`) and blandishment at the
expense of the creed and the fundamentals of the religion. Those
writers bring to life, by their call for sharing the holidays of
the Christians, 'interfaith fellowship' or what is known as 'the
theory of union'. Indeed it is an evil new creation and bad thought
had been originated by Jamal Ad-Ddin the Persian who demolished by
this call the bases of declaring support to the monotheists and
renouncing the polytheists (i.e. Al-Walaa` Wal Baraa`);
furthermore, he canceled the distinguishing lines between Islam and
other religions till talking about these bases is unfortunately
considered fanaticism and intellectual terrorism; in fact, it is
religious nonchalance and contradiction to the legislation of the
Lord of the worlds. So, we present our complaint to
Allah!
