The Constitution Day
Sheikh Sayyid Fu'âd ibn Sayyid Abdurrahman Ar-Rifâ'i Al-Husseini the Chairman of the Islamic Center of Wathakker has made a press statement on the occasion of the so-called celebrating the Constitution Day. It marks the fiftieth anniversary of its adoption, and it corresponds to Sunday, 11/11/2012.
Sayyid Ar-Rifâ'i Al-Husseini said, "We categorically reject the celebration of the so-called Constitution Day. The Muslims do not have but only two Eids; Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha (the day of the breaking of the fast and the day of sacrifice)."
Sayyid Ar-Rifâ'i Al-Husseini further added, "Abandoning the Noble Quran and taking other than it as legislation is considered setting partners to Allah Almighty and disbelieving in Him, Glorified and Exalted. We seek refuge in Allah from that."
Moreover, he added, "The reality of the planned celebration is that it is full of religious violations. They include intermingling between men and women, the wanton display of women, rising banners and flags, singing, dancing, and music. Let alone disabling the streets and roads, and putting pressure on people. The latest and perhaps not the last, the money of the Muslims is spent during those celebrations and not in its rightful place. A newspaper has published that the cost of the fireworks (alone) associated with these celebrations reached about four and a half million dinars. This is approximately 18 million US dollars. It is a very large sum, which if put in the right place; it would have saved millions of Muslims from hunger, nudity, and disease. Truly, to Allah we belong, and truly, unto Him we shall return."
Sayyid Ar-Rifâ'i Al-Husseini concluded his statement saying, "We affirm here, as we always do, that the Islamic nation will not know the taste of happiness, peace of mind, tranquility, and peace but only under the laws of Allah, Glorified and Exalted. Have I conveyed, O Allah be my witness."
