Repentance… O Repentance before the Day of Judgment
All Praise and thanks be to Allah, and peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah; Muhammad.
On his death bed, ‘Attâ’ As-Selamy said: “death is in my neck, the grave is before my hands, Judgment is my last stop and I do not know what will be done with me! Then he wept until exhaustion overtook him.”
Muhammad ibn Wâsi’ said in his death illness: “O brothers, do you know where I am being taken to? By Allah, Who there is no other god but Him, I am being taken to Hellfire or that He will forgive me.”
When Abu Al-Hassan was dying, he vehemently wept. He was asked: “O Abu Sa’îd, what makes you cry?” he answered: “fearing that He would throw me into Hellfire and that He would not care about me.”
Brother, think about those who have left! Where have they gone? What have they asked for? O What has made you careless about your Lord… that you have forgotten meeting with Him? What has made you forget the grave and its darkness?
Forbid your eyes the sleep
Let tears flood on your cheeks
Know: you are dead and will be reckoned
O you steady on angering the Majestic
When Abu Suleiman Ad-Dârâni was dying, his friends said to him: “rejoice as you are going to an Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful Lord.” Upon which he said: “should you not say: to a Lord Who will hold you accountable for every trivial matter and will punish you for every grave sin?’’
Before announcing the results:
Muhammad ibn Sîrîn cried when death approached him. He was asked: “why do you cry?” he said: “I cry for my negligence in the yonder days and for the lack of my work for the high above Heaven and for that which will make me escape the blazing Hellfire.”
When death came upon Abu ‘Attia, he got scared. He was asked: “do you fear death?” he said: “why shouldn’t I be afraid? It is only an hour and I do not know where I will be taken.”
Al-Fudhail ibn ‘Ayyâd fainted when death came upon him. He woke up and said: “O what a faraway journey and what little provision I have.”
Ibrahîm An-Nukha’i cried upon death; he was asked about this to which he answered: “I am waiting for a messenger from my Lord. I do not know if he will give me the glad tidings of Paradise or it will be Hellfire.”
Do not say I am and I do
Do not be conceited by youth
Do not say my wealth is much
Death has no fears
Contemplate about those many who have devoted themselves to the worldly examinations in schools and universities, how do they prepare for that by sleeplessness, studying, reviewing, asking and inquiring until they obtain the success and their hopes do not fail.
The conditions of the pious are the same. They do not shut a lid nor their mind and soul be at rest until they get through the obstacles of life and succeed in obtaining the satisfaction of the Lord of Heavens. they must succeed in that examination of the righteous work and becoming patient upon performing the acts of obedience, fear and piety, hope, desire and dread, and the renewal of repentance. {Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins). That is a reminder (an advice) for the mindful (those who accept advice)} [Surat Hûd 11:114].
{...إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} هود: 114

Beware young man
Think about your destination and end. Fear Allah and watch Him in all your words and actions. Hasten with repentance to wipe out the past sins. Verily your Lord accepts the repentance of the repentant and forgives the offenders. Allah Glorified and Exalted, has said: {O you who believe! Turn to Allâh with sincere repentance!} [Surat At-Tahrîm 66:8].
{يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّـهِ تَوْبَةً نَّصُوحًا...} التحريم: 8
Transliteration: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo tooboo ilaAllahi tawbatan nasoohan
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.
