How much do you weight?

{And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. (8) And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses.}

“50 kg? ... 60 kg? … 70 kg?!”

No, I do not mean that kind of weighing; I mean the true weighing…

I mean the weighing that Allah almighty has mentioned in His book by saying: "And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. (8) And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses" [Al-Araf 7:8-9]

{وَالْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحَقُّ ۚ فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ ﴿٨﴾ وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ}

Transliteration: Wa Al-Waznu Yawma'idhin Al-Ĥaqqu Faman Thaqulat Mawāzīnuhu Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna (8) Wa Man Khaffat Mawāzīnuhu Fa'ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Khasirū 'Anfusahum Bimā Kānū Bi'āyātinā Yažlimūna

Did you understand what I mean?

Your true weight is your weight in the scale of justice, when the scales would be spread; it is the weight of your good deeds that make you successful, and the weight of your evil deeds that make you loser. How much is your good manners?

I mean the good manners that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said about it: “Nothing would be heavier in the scale of the believer, in the Day of Judgment, than the good manners; Allah almighty dislikes the scurrilous.” [Narrated by At-Tirmizy]

How easier good manners are for whomever Allah almighty made it easy for him/her! How much do you guide to what is good? Did not you read the saying of the prophet peace be upon him: “One who guides to something good has a reward similar to that of its doer.”? [Narrated by Muslim]

Did not we hear that the prophet, peace be upon him, said: “He who introduced some good practice in Islam which was followed after him (by people) he would be assured of reward like one who followed it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who introduced some evil practice in Islam which had been followed subsequently (by others), he would be required to bear the burden like that of one who followed this (evil practice) without theirs being diminished in any respect.” [Narrated by Muslim]

How much do you read the Holy Quran that would be intercessor, in the Day of Judgment, for those who read it? Did you not hear that the prophet, peace be upon him, said: “Whoever reads a letter of Allah’s book, Allah almighty would ordain for him/her good and multiplies it to tenfold. I do not say that الم (Arabic word contains three letters; alef, laam and meem) is a letter, but alef is a letter and laam is a letter and meem is a letter.” [Approved by Al-Albany]

Since there are ten rewards for every letter, and Allah multiplies for whomever He wants, how much do you remember Allah?

How much do you say subhan allah wa behamdeh, subhan allah elazeem (Hallowed be Allah and praise is due to Him, Hallowed be Allah, the Great)?

How much do you say subhan allah, wa Alhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illa allah, wa allahuakbar, wa la hawl wala koata illa billah (Hallowed be Allah; all praise is due to Allah, there is no true god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest and there is no might and no power except with Allah).

How much multiplied rewards do you have?

How much do you ask forgiveness to yourself?

How much do you ask forgiveness to the believers?

Do not you know that we would have a reward for every person we ask forgiveness to?

Do not we all memorize the prophet’s, peace be upon him, saying: “Two are the expressions which are light on the tongue, but heavy in scale, dear to the Compassionate One:" Hallowed be Allah and praise is due to Him" ;" Hallowed be Allah, the Great." [Narrated by Al-Bukhary and Muslim]?

Are not we told that the prophet, peace be upon him, said: “Everyone has to daily give charity for each of his body joints; every tasbeeha (saying subhan allah) is a charity, every tahmeeda (saying Alhamdulillah) is a charity, every tahleela (saying la ilaha illa allah) is a charity, every takbeerah (saying allahuakbar) is a charity and enjoining good and forbidding evil is a charity. And two Rakaat at Ad-Duha (morn) are enough.” [Narrated by Muslim]?

The good deeds are numerous; and it is enough to mention the saying of the prophet peace be upon him: “Mufarradun have gone ahead. They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Allah's Messenger, who are Mufarradun? He said: They are those males and females who remember Allah much.” [Narrated by Muslim]

However, we should be alarmed to the good deeds eaters; such as injustice, envy, backbiting, tale-bearing, quarrel, cursing … etc.

Did not he (the Prophet peace be upon him) say: “The poor of my Umma would be he who would come on the Day of Resurrection with prayers and fasts and Zakat but (he would find himself bankrupt on that day as he would have exhausted his funds of virtues) since he hurled abuses upon others, brought calumny against others and unlawfully consumed the wealth of others and shed the blood of others and beat others, and his virtues would be credited to the account of one (who suffered at his hand). And if his good deeds fall short to clear the account, then his sins would be entered in (his account) and he would be thrown in the Hell-Fire.” [Narrated by Muslim]?

Therefore, do not scatter the good deeds … Seek forgiveness for what you did of evil deeds and what you did not do of good deeds … what do you wait?!

Let’s make our scale heavy with the good deeds; because, verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds.
