Warning against the celebration of the Christmas

The birth date of Jesus (peace be upon him) is not definitely known as there is no evidence for that, even if it is known, did Jesus order the people to celebrate his birthday?? And even if he ordered the people to celebrate his birthday

Praise be to Allah who made two Eids (feasts) for Muslims,

And peace be upon our prophet Muhammad who has ordered us to completely differ from the Jews and Christians, and peace be upon his family and companions.....

Warning the servants against the celebration of the Christmas

Dear beloved brothers:

A lot Muslims used to participate in the non-Muslims celebrations which are called the Christmas or the New Year by which the non-Muslim nations are dating.

Celebrating with these occasions became permanent habits for some Muslims (may Allah guide them to the right), as they are getting ready for this celebration and be happy with it.

In addition to committing sins ( singing, dancing, wine drinking, mixing between men and women, .........etc), these celebrations include greatest prohibitions connected with Muslim's doctrine, such as imitating unbelievers, liking their habits and rituals, strengthen them and being proud with their deviation and disbelief .

Note 1:

The birth date of Jesus (peace be upon him) is not definitely known as there is no evidence for that, even if it is known, did Jesus order the people to celebrate his birthday?? And even if he ordered the people to celebrate his birthday, did he (peace be upon him) order them to drink wine, dance or commit evils??? Of course he didn't.

Note 2:

Muslims should use the Migration calendar that depends on the moon for many reasons, the most important of which are the following :

1- The prophet's companions (may Allah be pleased with them) held consensus on it at the era of Omar Bin Al-Khattab, the commander of the faithful.

2- A lot of worships and rituals such as pilgrimage, fasting, zakat, expiations, woman's waiting period and others depend on the lunar calendar.

3- The Migration calendar connects the Islamic nation's generations with their righteous ancestors, if we left it, there would be a wide gap between the nation's glorious past and present.

4- Using the migration calendar distinguished us from the Jews and Christians, as we were ordered to be different from them.

Note 3:

Muslims are also imitating the unbelievers in celebrating the following occasions:

(A)- Birthday celebration
(B)- Marriage day celebration
(C)- Family day celebration
(D)- Valentine's day
(E )- Pharaoh Easter day
(F)- Persian New year's day....etc. and all these prohibited innovations.

Dear beloved brothers: finally, we present fatwa of some scholars concerning the celebration of these claimed occasions, we ask Almighty Allah to give its benefits to all Muslims.

Fatwa of sheikh Bin Othymeen (may Allah bestow His mercy upon him):

Presenting congratulation to the unbelievers with Christmas or any of their religious feasts, is consensually prohibited as reported by Bin Al-Qaym in his book (the provisions of the covenanted non-Muslim people), whereas he said: "presenting congratulation to the unbelievers with the disbelieving special rituals such as congratulating them with their feasts or fasting saying "Happy Christmas or the like", is consensually prohibited, because it is similar to presenting congratulation for the one who prostrated to the cross, drank wine, killed innocent man, committed adultery or the like. A lot of people who don't put the religion in their consideration, expose themselves to Allah's outrage when they congratulate those servants who are committing sins, innovations or disbelieving.”

The congratulation for the unbelievers with their religious feasts, is considered as approving them on their state of disbelieving, although Muslim doesn't satisfy with the unbelieving rituals for himself but it is prohibited for him to satisfy with them for other people, as Almighty Allah says “ If you disbelieve, then verily, Allah is not in need of you; He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you...” [Az-Zumar 39:6]

Transliteration: 'In Takfurū Fa'inna Allāha Ghanīyun Ankum Wa Lā Yarđá Liibādihi Al-Kufra Wa 'In Tashkurū Yarđahu Lakum…

If the unbelievers congratulated us with their feasts, it would be prohibited to answer them because these aren't our feasts. Also Almighty Allah doesn't satisfy with these feasts as they are either innovated in the unbelievers' religion or abrogated with the religion of Islam with whom our prophet Muhammad -peace and blessings be upon him- was sent to all people, Almighty Allah says "And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. “[Al-‘Imran 3:85]

{وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ}
آل عمران: 85

Transliteration: Wa Man Yabtaghi Ghayra Al-'Islāmi Dīnāan Falan Yuqbala Minhu Wa Huwa Fī Al-'Ākhirati Mina Al-Khāsirīna

It is also prohibited on Muslims to imitate the unbelievers by holding parties in these occasions, exchanging presents, distributing sweets and food, work suspension or the like, as the prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- said " whoever assimilates himself to a group of people, he becomes one of them." [Declared authentic by Al-Albani]

‹‹من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم››
صححه الألبانى

Whoever participating the unbelievers by celebrating with one of the forgoing ways, is a sinner whether he did that as a kind of courtesy, shyness or for any other reasons, because that strengthens the unbelievers and increases their proud with their false religion.

We invoke Almighty Allah; the powerful to strengthen Muslims and keep them firm give them victory upon their enemies.

And peace be upon you all......
