Reading Qur’aan from the computer

Is it valid to read Qur’aan from the computer instead of from the Mushaf ?
In other words, reading from websites on the Internet or from text files that contain the entire Qur’aan, which is displayed on the computer screen. I work in a company and during my breaks I read Qur’aan on the computer.
Is it necessary to have wudoo’ for this kind of reading, as is the case when reading from the Mushaf?.

Praise be to Allaah. There is no difference between reading Qur’aan from the Mushaf or reading from an electronic Mushaf, or from pages on the Internet, or from the screen of a mobile phone. What counts is reading, moving the lips and looking at the written words of Allah, may He be exalted, ... Continue Reading

Is Purity essential for reading Qur’aan from one’s mobile phone?

Some mobile phones have a Quraan programs which enable one to read the Quraan anytime on the mobile’s screen. Is Taharah (Purity) a condition before one starts reciting?.

Praise be to Allaah. These mobile phones in which Qur’aan is put in written or recorded form do not come under the same ruling as the Mus-haf, so it is permissible to touch them without having purified oneself and it is permissible to take them into the washroom with one, because writing ... What are the parts which should be washed when doing istinjaa’?

This is quite an embarrassing question which I am finding difficult to ask anyone. Please could you tell me exactly which parts are you supposed to wash when doing istinjaa? Is it sufficient to just wash the orifices or should one wash the whole penis and the areas where one has pubic hair in this region?

Praise be to Allaah. Istinjaa’ is obligatory; this means removing whatever has been passed from the front or back passages with water, stones, or anything else that is pure and will remove the impurity (najaasah), such as pebbles or coarse tissue paper, or clean pieces of paper on which ... Ruling on the discharges that come out from the woman’s uterus

A girl noticed some thin discharge on her underwear but she had not felt it come out. Is it permissible for her to pray with her underwear on which this discharge has gotten? If it is not permissible, then does she have to repeat her wudoo’ and change her underwear?.

Praise be to Allaah.   The discussion on such discharges focuses on two issues:1- Is it taahir (pure) or naajis (impure)? The view of Abu Haneefah and Ahmad, and one of the two views narrated from al-Shaafa’i -which al-Nawawi classed as correct- is that it is pure. This view was ... Continue Reading

Please tell me if a transparent fluid like water is excreted which becomes white coloured after drying is our fast and prayer valid? is ghusl farz on us or not.please please tell me because i pass this thing alot and find it on my underwear and i do ghusl 2 or 3 times a day to make my fast and prayer valid.plz tell me whatis this and what should i do.

Praise be to Allaah. This kind of discharge is passed a great deal by women. It is taahir (pure) and not naajis (impure), and there is no need to do ghusl because of it. All it does is invalidate wudoo’. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked about it ... Continue Reading

Differences between semen (maniy) and urethral fluid (madhiy)

Some times when i wake up in the morning, i find some wet coming out. Please don't take it as a wet dream, or urine, becuase the sticky stuff comes out usually just after i have woken up in the morning. Most of the days i have to wash my under wear just becasue of that, and sometimes i wash my pants too.

I read it somewhere that if its not semen, just that sticky stuff than we don't need to perform ghusl, and only wuzu is enough to offer prayers. If it is then what about the clothes?. The same stuff comes out during some salacious situations also, though i try to stay away from all that kind of stuff.

The first difference: qualitiesSemen in the case of men is a thick, white liquid, and in the case of women it is thin and yellow. (Translator’s note: the word maniy is used to refer to the fluid secreted by either male or female at the time of orgasm). The source for these descriptions of ... Continue Reading

Things that make ghusl obligatory

What are the things that make ghusl obligatory?.

Praise be to Allaah. The things that make ghusl obligatory are six things. If one of them happens then the Muslim has to do ghusl. 1- Emission of maniy (semen) from its exit in the male or female, which happens either when one is awake or when one is asleep. If it is emitted when one is awake, ... Continue Reading

One should not exaggerate in cleaning oneself after relieving oneself

I have a serious problem when purifying myself from major impurity, because I purify myself with a little water, then I wipe myself sometimes 21 times and sometimes more than that, yet I still see traces, which makes me purify myself again with water. Hence I spend a long time in the washroom in order to cleanse myself, which has damanged my health. What is your opinion? Is there a specific number of times for wiping oneself in order to become pure?.

Praise be to Allaah.Firstly:The phrase major impurity applies to janaabah (impurity following sexual activity), menses and nifaas (postpartum bleeding). The way to purify oneself from that is: the woman should start by cleaning her private parts, then makes the water reach all parts of her body. ... Continue Reading

Does the one who takes a shower to cool down have to do wudoo’ for prayer?

Is it Correct to pray without wadoo immedietly after coming from a normal bath.

Praise be to Allaah. It is mustahabb for a Muslim to do wudoo’ before ghusl, following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). If ghusl is done in cases of major impurity such as janaabah (impurity following sexual activity) and menstruation, and the ... Is it necessary to do wudoo’ before doing ghusl for making oneself pure (tahaarah)

I would like to know if it's okay if i didn't make wudu after taking a bath???

Praise be to Allaah. If you are referring to the ritual bath of ghusl, then the answer is as follows:(Al-Bukhaari reported in [al-Saheeh 248]) from ‘Aa’ishah that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did ghusl to purify himself from janaabah (impurity following ... Description of how to do ghusl for major impurity

How is major ablution done? There are differences of opinion in a number of madhhabs, so who should I follow?
How did the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) to minor and major ablution?.

Praise be to Allaah. Firstly:You do not have to follow a particular madhhab; rather you have to ask a scholar whom you trust, one who is famous among the people for his knowledge and virtue, then follow the religious rulings that he explains to you. It does not matter if there are differences ... Continue Reading
