Revival of Sunnah - Why Revival?

Since 2014-09-21

An introduction on why we should all aim to revive the Sunnahs of our beloved prophet (peace be upon him).

The Prophet (peace be upon him) had predicted the crisis of discord the Ummah is living right now. People are confused, every group claims to be on Haqq (right path), so which is the right path?

The answer is clear in the following (peace be upon him) hadith. Irbad bin Sariyah narrated that: The Prophet (peace be upon him) delivered an eloquent sermon, which greatly moved us and sent a wave of fear into our hearts and our eyes shed tears. We said to him, "This sermon seems like the last advice; then tell us something more as advice." He said, «I advise you to fear Allah (because of your obligations to Allah) and to hear and obey even a slave who may be put in authority over you. Those of you who survive me will notice many differences. It will be incumbent upon you to follow my Sunnah (tradition) and the practices of my rightly guided successors (Caliphs) and hold fast with these precepts and traditions and beware of innovations and inventions in religion, because every innovation leads to the wrong path» (Al-Tirmithi).

As you can see from the Prophet’s words, the way to salvation is by following his Sunnah, and tracing his way of life. We are starting this journey to know more about the Prophet's life; what he used to do and say. We will revive 354 Sunnahs, equivalent to the number of days in the Hijri calender. One Sunnah every day, and we can move to the next Sunnah after we have perfected it. We selected Sunnahs which are agreed upon among the Muslim scholars and the different Mathahib so we will hopefully find that what we agree upon is much more than what we disagree about. Let our goal be to follow the Prophet, and let our motto be

{وَإِنْ تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا}

Translation: {And if you obey him, you will be [rightly] guided} [An-Nur:54].
