The compulsory test

All praise is due to Allah, and prayers and peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah.
Man passes through his lifetime by many tests, in which he has the choice of taking these tests or not. However, there is another kind of test; it is the compulsory test.
Actually, none passes this test except who is prepared. However, what is this test? Is it the test of the high school? Is it a test of licentiate or master or philosophy degree? Is it…? Is it…?
It is a test for every educated and illiterate person; it is not for a specific age; it is for everybody from the age of puberty till death; it is not held here in this world, rather it is in Hereafter. Allah Almighty said: {Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers} [Surat Al-`A’râf 7:6]
Transliteration: Falanasalanna allatheena orsila ilayhim walanasalanna almursaleena
All nations will be asked about how they responded to their messengers, and the messengers will also be asked about conveying the messages of their Lord and the response of their nations. He Almighty said: {So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account. (92) For all that they used to do.} [Surat Al-Hijr 15:92-93]
Transliteration: Fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaAAeena (92) AAammakanoo yaAAmaloona
Therefore, Allah (the Exalted the Glorious) will ask everyone declared war against the religion neglecting its teachings and did not adhere to it; He will ask him about what he did and will reckon him. Allah Almighty says: {But you shall certainly be called to account for what you used to do} [Surat An-Nahl 16:93] i.e. whether it is good or evil.
Transliteration: walatusalunna AAamma kuntum taAAmaloona
He Almighty said: {And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have no knowledge (e.g. one's saying: "I have seen," while in fact he has not seen, or "I have heard," while he has not heard). Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be questioned (by Allah).} [Surat Al-Isrâ` 17:36]
Transliteration: Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun inna alssamAAa waalbasara waalfuada kullu olaika kana AAanhu masoolan
And He Almighty said: {So hold you (O Muhammad, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) fast to that which is revealed to you. Verily you are on the Straight Path. And verily this (the Qur’ân) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it)} [Surat Az-Zukhruf 43:43-44]
Transliteration: Faistamsik biallathee oohiya ilayka innaka AAala siratin mustaqeemin (43) Wainnahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tusaloona
As for you, dear young Muslim brother, there is another issue. The Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “No servant will leave on the Day of Judgment before being asked about his life, in what did he spend it? And his knowledge, what did he do by it? And his money, from where did he gain it and in what did he spend it? And his body, in what did he consume it?” [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani]
O dear beloved brother, have you heard? You will be asked about your life and youthfulness; so, you should answer. What would you say to your Lord (the Exalted the Glorious) on the Day of Judgment in that terrible dreadful situation? The Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When the people would stand before Allah, the Lord of the worlds, each one of them would stand in his sweat that will cover him till half of his ears.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
And he (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The people will sweat heavily on the Day of Resurrection that their sweat will sink seventy cubits deep into the earth, and it will rise up till it reaches people's mouths and ears” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
Glory to Allah! Really, it is a difficult test! Our sweat sinks to the ground! Seventy cubits! Truly, it is a hard test. We ask Allah to mercy our weakness and support our broken souls, when we come to Him (Glorified and Exalted).
Dear young brother, have you imagined yourself asked before Allah (the Exalted the Glorious)? “None of you but Allah will talk to him without a translator in the middle, and when he looks right, he will see nothing but his deeds, then when he looks left, he will see nothing but his deeds, and then when he looks forward, he will see Hellfire. So, he who could gain protection from Hellfire, he should do, even by (spending) half a date (date fruit)” [Authenticated by Al-Albani]
O dear beloved young Muslim brother,
What did you prepare …? What did you prepare for that Great Day? Have you prepared prayer, worship and holding fast to the order and religion of Allah (the Exalted the Glorious)? Have you prepared yourself by fearing Allah (the Exalted the Glorious) and fearing His punishment and wrath? Have you prepared straightness in the tongue, eyes and limbs? Have you fixed your heart and dedicated it to Allah (the Exalted the Glorious) and purified it? Have you promised your Lord not to disobey Him? Have you adhered to the Sunnah of your Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) and considered him your model, teacher and guide?
Have you obeyed your parents and became responsive to their needs, especially when they are in their older years? Have you kept observing your prayer, fasting, praying at night and reciting the Holy Qur`an? Have you kept attending the lessons of Sharia knowledge, to be taught and up brought on the orders of Allah and the orders of His Messenger (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him)? Have you called people to Allah (the Exalted the Glorious)? Do you care much for gaining the satisfaction of Allah (Glorified and Exalted)? … And I repeat again … What did you prepare for tomorrow? … What did you prepare for that Day?
The Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “He who fears will pass through the night, and who passes through night will attain the rank, the merchandise of Allah is expensive, as his merchandise is paradise.” [Authenticated by Al-Albani]
Yes dear beloved brother, he who fears should hurry and do his best for obeying Allah (the Exalted the Glorious) and having good deeds bring him close to Allah.
What did you prepare for that Day? … {That Day shall a man flee from his brother, And from his mother and his father, And from his wife and his children} [Surat ‘Abasa 80:34-36]
Transliteration: Yawma yafirru almaro min akheehi(34) Waommihi waabeehi (35) Wasahibatihi wabaneehi
Or have you blackened your record by the evil deeds?!
