Glorifying the book of Allah
{Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels).} [Al-Waki’a 56:79]
{لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ} الواقعة: 79
Transliteration: La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona
Oh Muslims:
The Holy Quran is the words of Allah the Almighty, which he descended upon our prophet Muhammad (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) to become the remaining and everlasting message until Allah inherits the earth and all that’s on it.
And by this book, Allah the Almighty immersed the Arab nation and the whole humanity from the darkness of shirk (polytheism), atheism, delusion, ignorance and retardation, to the light of Islam, faith, guidance, knowledge and civilization.
Oh Beloved ones:
Glorifying the book of Allah the Almighty is from glorifying Allah the Almighty, His reverence, paid tribute and appreciation. And every Muslim should abide to certain obligations and manners with this book (The Quran), and they are as follows:
Firstly, the obligations…and among them:
1- The words of Allah must be applied on the individuals as well as the governments. Permit what He permits, forbid what He forbids and stand firm at His limits.
2- We must take its pledge: by memorizing and reciting it. And to study it: by reading it correctly and understanding its meaning.
3- We should honor its people; those who read it, teach it or memorize it.
4- The one who memorized the whole Quran should lead the Muslims in prayer even if he was younger (This is the opinion of the majority of Jurists).
5- We must preserve it and protect it from impurities.
6- It is not permitted to touch the holy Quran except while one is pure from: Janaabah, menstruation, and postpartum bleeding.
7- It is not permitted to carry it while entering the bathroom, or to use it as a billow.
8- Laughter, shouting and chatting are not permitted while listening to the holy Quran.
9- It is not allowed to give it to young kids (who haven’t reached the age of discernment) to preserve its sacredness.
10- It is not allowed to travel to the lands of the enemies while carrying the holy Quran (if it was feared that they might reach it), lest they insult it.
11-It is not permitted to sell it or give it as a gift or lend it to a non-Muslim, even if this particular Quran was historical. And the prohibition increase if the disbeliever whom you will give it to him was hating to Islam...Fanatic to his void ... Unflinchingly attacking Islam, the Quran and the prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him).
Note:
If the sacred things of Allah were violated and we didn’t do anything about it, then this is a warning: bad omen…calamity…and punishment from Allah the Almighty. So beware, beware, beware!
Note:
Someone might say: With the increased number of libraries, the technologies available nowadays and the progress in the field of communication specially the internet, all this canceled the prohibition of many things such as giving a polytheist the Quran…He could easily get it from any library or through the internet!
The answer: The prohibited things remain prohibited even if the circumstances changed…
The least we can do is to not contribute in insulting the book of Allah by giving it to a polytheist…else we would share him the sin (may Allah forbid)… So beware, beware!

Secondly, Manners…among them:
1- We should be sincere to Allah while reading it.
2- Using Miswak and sitting in the direction of the Qiblah.
3- We should never put the Quran on the floor to honor it.
4- We should never ever extend our leg in its direction, so beware!
5- It should be higher than our leg level while reading it, better carry it in our hands or put it on a special stand.
6- We shouldn’t put books or anything else over it.
There is a lot more manners and obligations toward the book of Allah the Almighty.
Note:
Dear brothers: It is very strange that the people seeking this world and their desires are dignifying their laws and constitutions (and they are falsehood) and raising it high, while some of the Muslims are negligent with their duty towards the glorification of Allah’s book and it is the book of Truth! (May Allah guide us and them). So beware, beware!
Glad tidings to the Muslims:
Oh beloved: Recently, a lot of polytheist had insulted the book of Allah the Almighty, trying to desecrate it and violate its sanctities. And we and all the Muslims are in good condition so long as we get angry for the book of Allah the Almighty and defend it with our money, ourselves, our children and with all what we are able to. So be optimistic and have glad tidings.
Kahled ibn Al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) used to weep while holding the Quran and say: “Jihad for the sake of Allah kept me from a great deal of recitation.”
So what kept us Muslims today from reciting it?!!
