In this short article, I hope to dispel some of the myths surrounding this day and explain the position of Ahl as-Sunnah with regards to the above two practices.
Some easy Sunnah fasts that we can keep beyond the month of Ramadhan so that we can, inshaaAllah, be of those who enter Jannah through the gate of ar-Rayan
A day of fasting… joy… happiness
Sayyid Ar-Rifâ'i: the fasting of the Day of Âshûrâ' was obligatory, after that it became a confirmed Sunnah.
A Day of: Fasting… Joy… and Happiness
Fasting in the month of muharram is highly desired, especially on the tenth day, aashooraa.
Ibn Al-Jawzy (may Allah mercy him) said: 'Brothers (may Allah mercy you), know that Muharram is honorable month, and it is called Muharram (i.e. forbidden) because it was forbidden to fight in it.' (At-Tabsirah: 2/6).
No doubt, the day when a tyranny dies is remarkable!!
