Is eating ‘ashoura at the day of ‘ashoura (tenth of Muharram) considered bid’a? Is it permissible to eat this sweet a day before or after the tenth of Muharram?
Fasting in the month of muharram is highly desired, especially on the tenth day, aashooraa.
Ibn Al-Jawzy (may Allah mercy him) said: 'Brothers (may Allah mercy you), know that Muharram is honorable month, and it is called Muharram (i.e. forbidden) because it was forbidden to fight in it.' (At-Tabsirah: 2/6).
